‘May’ we welcome you to York? Silly season is definitely in full swing here in York, as it always is when the weather improves. What we usually do is plant a look-out on top of the Minster, and as soon as he or she see a warm, relatively sunny day approaching, declares “Events, events, events!” We all follow the advice and the summer party begins. So getting out and about in York during the month of May was a very clever choice on your part. As we’re a city that appreciates cleverness (what’s that, TWO universities?) we shall reward you Pop in for ious some delic e a homem d s e k a c

with a bumper issue of What’s On, bursting at the seams with fun, interesting and exciting things to see and do. Seriously, we had to use special extra-strong staples this month. Obviously you’ll be trying your best to do everything listed in these lovely pages, but if time is tight ‘May’ we suggest a few? Put a spring in your step at the Steiner School Spring Fair on 17th May as you wander their magical spring grotto. Also, why not choo-choo-choose this event at the National Railway Museum? Their Big Fun with Little Trains

activities will let you enjoy rides on trains of all shapes and sizes. And if you were looking for something more cerebral (after all, you are very clever) why not try wrapping your brain around some of the fascination events and talks of the Before I Die Festival? Whatever May-hem you get up to this month, have fun, stay safe, and if you’re back again next year there is job going as city look-out. One question; how are you with heights?
