York! It’s that time of year again; the air is filling with the scent of bonfires and the night sky is alive with sparkles – the 5th November is upon us once again. Of course, you won’t see anyone asking for a penny for the guy during your visit to York – due to the small fact that Guy Fawkes hails from our fair city, we prefer to keep all burning of effigies of him to a minimum…
Still, that doesn’t mean that we don’t want to have fun this Fireworks Night, and for the first time in years York is set to
host a fabulous celebration. Kicking things off is the Kaboom event at Rawcliffe Country Park on 4th November, which is vying to be the biggest fireworks display in the country. Then, on 5th November you can choose between the Fireworks to Music Spectacular, taking place at York Maze, and the innovative Gunpowder Plod at the Knavesmire, which features a 5K run and live music from Reverend and the Makers. We dare you to do all three. It’s not all about Fireworks Night, though – there’s plenty to keep you entertained throughout the month, from antiques fairs to murder mystery nights, and everything in between. If you’re looking to get into the Christmassy mood, then you’re definitely in the right place. This month sees the fantastic Ice Factor return to the Designer Outlet from the 24th – and if that doesn’t get you excited about the festive season, then frankly we don’t know what will. Whatever you plan to do during your visit, have fun! Until next month!
