What's on, we hear you ask... Well, we’ll tell ya. Nowt! Nada! Nothing! We are of course talking about what we’re wearing this month, because as the temperatures rise, the number of clothing items we wear drops. We’re so hopeful for a hot June that we’ve even planned some ‘pants-only’ days in the What’s On office. Exciting. Although, for legal reasons, we have to state that those days are completely voluntary. Anyway, if you’re wondering what’s on in terms of events in and around the bee-oot-iful
city of York this month, then we have exactly the opposite answer. Lots! Tonnes! Shedloads! This place certainly doesn’t disappoint when it comes to summer-time fun, both in and outdoors... and we’ve got the details of pretty much all of them.
however, a simple fold or roll is all it takes, and we slide right on in there, ready to join you on your fun day out around York.
You might notice that this magazine is somewhat more compact than your average magazine, and that is intentional. Try forcing the latest issue of National Geographic into your back pocket... ain’t ‘appning, guv. With What’s On,
Our pocket pal credentials are further enhanced by the addition of a map, which should help you navigate the many winding streets of our city, as it can be a confusing. If you do get lost, just ask a friendly local. And if they insist that today in York it is a ‘pants-only’ day, remember it is not compulsory.
Have a great mont h!

Lunchtime, sorted As York's economy goes from strength to strength, you might have noticed more chains stores creeping into the city over the past few years. However, if you're more interested in supporting local businesses, owned by local people, you're well catered for too, and Sandwitches is ready to serve up your lunch for today. Located on Newgate, just off the Shambles Market, Sandwitches is a family-run cafe and restaurant selling hearty, healthy, and locally sourced grub with a friendly smile. At home in an old and quint building, the cafe features three floors in which to relax and unwind with your food and drink; the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of the marketplace and city streets.
44
While feasting on your choice of hand-made sandwiches, jacket potatos, salads, or even nachos, you can listen to local bands and artists' music over the stereo, and get all the latest info on gigs and performances. The first floor walls are also covered in song lyrics – try to match them to the band. Great food, reasonable prices, and friendly staff in an interesting and relaxed environment – it's what lunchtime should be all about. Check out the menus at www.sandwitchesyork.com
