AN A-MAY-ZING MONTH
The month of May is going to be a special one here in York. It all begins with King Charles III’s Coronation and the various festivities that will line the streets of York in association with the royal celebration. Of course, that’s only the start, as the festivities continue throughout the month, preparing ourselves for the spring sunshine. Whether you fancy getting your hands on some plants from one of the fantastic plant sales this month, or maybe you’re planning on spending a lovely afternoon cruising the Ouse with City Cruises, there is plenty to do in May.
If you’re looking for little events to treat your family to in the Half Term, there is of course all the fun at Beetle Bank Farm with plenty of animals and exciting activities, a Treasure Island-themed adventure play at Mother Shipton’s or, if you’re feeling particularly peckish, then the great Malton Food Festival offers the best of alfresco dining, sampling foods from incredible independent vendors in the foodie capital of Yorkshire.
If you fancy a bit more on the music scene, our gig and theatre guide have all of the latest and greatest of local performance for you to attend, and as always, keep an eye on adverts in this mag, as we often feature some fantastic, exclusive discounts. Have a lovely month and enjoy the lasts of spring before summer hits!
Until next time, The Whats on York Team x
