NEW CANCER CARE CENTRE OPENS ITS DOORS
Local charity, York Against Cancer, is delighted to announce that they have now opened the doors of their brand-new cancer support centre next to their gift shop at York Community Stadium in Huntington. The Leveson Centre, named after one of the charities co-founders, Professor Steve Leveson, has been created to offer a safe space for anyone affected by cancer to access support and advice. Located away from the hospital site, the centre will eventually provide a wide range of holistic services which will complement the clinical treatments provided at the hospital. For the time being the centre will be open on a daily drop-in basis welcoming cancer patients, friends, and family members to pop in for a cuppa and a chat with the team.
Julie Russell, CEO of York Against Cancer commented: “The Leveson Centre will extend the support and care available for cancer patients from across York and the wider region. It will serve the people that need it long into the future as well as continue with our other vitally important services and research. Together we can make a difference!”
