Old Queen Street Café, a new all-day dining British brasserie in the heart of Westminster formally opened its doors in June this year. Located just steps away from Westminster Abbey and Parliament Square, the brasserie is perfectly situated for both locals and tourists looking for a unique and memorable dining experience. With its innovative menu, stylish design, and prime location, the brasserie is a perfect destination for foodies and casual diners alike.
Being an all-day brasserie, customers can enjoy breakfast, lunch, cocktail hour and dinner coupled with brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. Menus focus on British producers and ingredients rather than traditional recipes and their goal is to offer a fresh perspective on British cuisine celebrating the rich history and traditions of British cooking while pushing the boundaries and introducing new flavours and techniques. Chefs work with the very best British suppliers ensuring guests are having the best produce the British Isles have to offer and the menu has been brought to life by Executive Chef Leo De Oliveria Araujo and Head Chef Elliot Spurdle.
Recommended is the Coronation Chicken Schnitzel Sandwich, chicken Schnitzel, Lettuce and Coronation Mayo, Beetroot Carpaccio with Horseradish Yoghurt, Beetroot Ketchup and Toasted seeds and Chorizo, Octopus & Potato Warm Salad with Citrus Gremolata. Dinner is a leisurely and relaxed affair, with dishes to enjoy over a very reasonably priced glass (or bottle) of wine. Guests can enjoy Bone-in pork chop with celeriac and apple slaw, confit shallots and cider sauce, Pan fried salmon with almonds, grapes & Isle of White Tomatoes and Roasted Cauliflower with grilled sweetcorn, red pepper succotash and salsa Verde. There will also be weekly seasonal specials making the best of the produce on offer.
The restaurant is on the ground floor of a stunning building which has event spaces available for hire for talks, events, private lunches and dinners and weddings and they have rooms available for sitting down affairs of up to 40 people and standing of 100. They even boast the floorboards from Winston Churchill’s Old War Office which was just round the corner.
