Jacuzzi
Spread across three glorious floors, Jacuzzi is Big Mamma's first palazzo. Located on Kensington High Street, and spread across 4,000 sqft, crammed with Italian treasures from Roman statues to Murano glass and 170 seats.
Studio Kiki, the brand's in-house interiors team, have reimagined the Renaissance villas of old. Jacuzzi’s three floors begin with a high-ceilinged vast alabaster walled dining room, complete with 1,000 bottles on the wall, a spiralling marble floor and a gigantic limone tree that has spread its canopy across the stucco and Murano glass chandelier filled ceiling.
Head up the impressive staircase and the mezzanine floor depicts a lush terrazza by the sea, complete with a retractable glass ceiling that's perfect for the warmer months. The wellstocked marble bar is framed by original Sicilian pots and pretty greenery.
On the top floor, there's another 50 seats, marble flooring, plinths and murals to the Italo fashion greats. While there is no denying that the interiors are a huge draw to Jacuzzi, the menu showcases some of the lesser-known ingredients from across the country.
From the mountains of the cusp of Apennines and overlooking the valley to Parma, is the finest Culatello di Zibello PDO painstakingly cured by Mattia Zambroni; from the coast off Sicily, sweet Mediterranean ‘Gambero Rosso’ red prawns; and black diamonds, Italian white sturgeon Transmontanus caviar from Veneto.
The menu also celebrates the best of the UK with Maldon Rock local oysters from Porthilly Farm, high-welfare rosé veal from Shropshire, native British lobster and hand-dived scallops from Fowey, plus cuts of the finest Cornish grass-fed steak - all done with an Italian twist.
Highlights include Kensington Green - home-made green mafaldine in a vibrant basil pesto topped with burrata's creamy heart; Puttanesca Con Tonno Crudo - home-made spaghetti alla chitarra in a fresh datterini tomato sauce with olive Taggiasche and capers served with stracciatella and delicate raw wild Albacore tuna.
The many pizzas don't disappoint either with Princess Piccante - San Marzano tomato, mozzarella fior di latte, spicy 'nduja, salame piccante, caramelised red onions, tarragon; and The Crown - Mozzarella fior di latte, prosciutto crudo, sautéed mushrooms, rocket, Parmigiano Reggiano.
There’s also the perfectly crispy yet soft cheese-stuffed Roman focaccias coming from the brand-new focaccia oven.
Fans of the brand's other locations including Circolo Popolare and Gloria, can still enjoy the fresh and creamy Puglian Burrata and of course, the famed Pecorino wheels with homemade spaghetti alla chitarra, creamy truffle sauce, Parmigiano Reggiano DOP and fresh black malodorous truffle served within.
Along with a great wine list, Jacuzzi boasts some seriously fun cocktails including the Rossini, with strawberry infused Amaro Savoia, cranberry juice and Champagne; and Lo Sgroppino with home-made bergamot sorbet with Italicus liqueur & limoncello, topped off with Champagne.
Between the taking pictures of the decor and cocktails, make sure you leave room for dessert. Pastry Chef Desirée has dived into the deep-end with Jacuzzi's first-ever Cioccolato Fondue for two. There's also the Pistacchio Profiterole Napoletana, a giant profiterole filled with gelato al Pistacchio di Bronte, whipped cream and topped with a creamy hazelnut sauce.
