LONDON DESIGN FESTIVAL
16-24 September
Launched by Sir John Sorrell CBE and Ben Evans CBE in 2003, London Design Festival celebrates and promotes the city as a design capital on the global stage. Building on London’s existing design activity, their concept was to create an annual event that would promote the city’s creativity, drawing in the country’s greatest thinkers, practitioners, retailers and educators to a deliver an unmissable celebration of design.
The launch of the first Festival took place at Bloomberg on 25 March 2003, with a show of support from design, education, government and London organisations. 20 years later, this vision remains ever strong.
In 2019, the Festival welcomed a record-breaking 600,000 individual visitors from over 75 countries. Celebrating its 20th
anniversary in 2022, London Design Festival moved into a new decade, celebrating how it has played a key role in the growth of the design industry, bolstering London’s position as a global destination for business, culture and tourism, and contributed to the UK’s reputation as a creative powerhouse. As one of the world’s leading design events, the Festival has also served as the blueprint for design weeks and festivals globally and continues to be a key moment on the cultural calendar.
The creative industries are a British success story, and a powerhouse of the UK economy, growing 1.5 times faster than the wider economy over the past decade and contributing £108 billion in gross value added (GVA) annually. Employment in the sector has grown five times faster than the rest of the economy since 2011.

LANGE & SÖHNE SHOWCASE THEIR LATEST HOROLOGICAL MASTERPIECES AT HARRODS
From now until 24 September, visitors to Harrods Fine Watch Room can experience a touch of Geneva. In an ambience inspired by the design of the A. Lange & Söhne stand at this year’s Watches and Wonders, the German watch manufacture presents an exclusive selection of its latest masterpieces. Among them is the new Odysseus Chronograph, which testifies to the brand’s ability to keep breaking new ground.
Embraced by the sweeping marble staircase of the gallerylike space, a giant replica of the recently launched Odysseus Chronograph literally makes a big impact. The five-metretall hallmark of the A. Lange & Söhne stand in Geneva gives connoisseurs and enthusiasts a deep insight into Lange’s world of watch mechanics and consummate craftsmanship. Just like the timepieces on display, the down to the smallest finesses exact reproduction is a reminder of the quest for perfection and the highest quality associated with A. Lange & Söhne.
The Odysseus Chronograph is the latest sequel to the success story of the sporty-elegant watch family introduced four years ago. Encased in stainless steel, the newly developed L156.1 calibre is the first self-winding chronograph movement by A. Lange & Söhne. Thanks to its central minute counter and dynamic reset-to-zero function, this timepiece transports the contemporary and one-ofa-kind design of the watch family to a new technical dimension.
Also on display will be - just like at the Geneva watch exhibition - previous models of the Odysseus watch family as well as novelties like the new Zeitwerk, the second generation of A. Lange & Söhne’s award-winning digital watch with a mechanical heart, and the redesigned Grand Lange 1.
“As a watch manufacture always striving for excellence and perfection, we are proud to present our Watches and Wonders masterpieces with Harrods,” says Lange CEO Wilhelm Schmid. “This exclusive exhibition marks yet another significant milestone in our long-standing partnership and highlights our joint commitment to the highest watchmaking art.”
A. Lange & Söhne timepieces are available at Harrods’ Fine Watches department since 2011. The recently redeveloped boutique located on the ground floor of the historic department store invites watch collectors and connoisseurs to a warm and welcoming space that radiates refinement and sophistication. The store is home to an extensive range of the manufacture’s six watch families, including the latest additions and exclusive limited boutique editions.

RACING BLUE
TAG Heuer has always been among the timekeepers most closely associated with racing, and the Monaco collection is an embodiment of this ideal. When the brand introduced the model in 1969, it revolutionised the watchmaking industry.
Unlike anything else on the market, the timepiece featured the first square cased water-resistant chronograph which housed the revolutionary Calibre 11 movement. More than a bold design statement - the Heuer Monaco was named after the legendary principality that hosts one of Formula 1’s most renowned races. This relationship has held a special place in the brand’s heart and history and remains a significant aspect of TAG Heuer’s identity to this day.
For many, the TAG Heuer Monaco will always be associated with one of the greatest actors of his generation, Steve McQueen. In 1970, while filming Le Mans, the Hollywood superstar decided to wear the same racing suit and watch as the professional driver and personal trainer, Jo Siffert. By doing so, he aimed to embody the role of an authentic racing driver, and he quickly became a style icon in his own right, proudly sporting a Heuer Monaco timepiece.
Over the years, the TAG Heuer Monaco has continued to evolve, incorporating new materials, technologies, and design elements that make it a true work of art, quickly becoming a symbol of the brand’s avant-garde spirit. This latest version of the Monaco Chronograph Racing Blue is no exception, as it pays homage to the incredible racing heritage and the indelible mark that TAG Heuer has left on the discipline.
For the summer of 2023, TAG Heuer has released a new TAG Heuer Monaco, drawing a line through decades of history connecting the brand to the world of motorsport. In the early days of motor racing, cars were distinguished by their national colours rather than manufacturer or sponsor liveries. Each country had its own specific hue, such as the renowned British racing green, the vibrant Italian red, Germany’s initial use of white before transitioning to silver, and the unmistakable shade of blue associated with the French. It is that particular shade of blue that serves as the inspiration for TAG Heuer’s latest creation, the TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Racing Blue.
The new TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Racing Blue features a tone that evokes the colours sported by esteemed automotive brands like Talbot-Lago, Delage and, last but not least, the famous Bugatti Type 35. The subsidiary dials and strap come in a gamut of azure tones, while the indexes are presented in a lighter shade. The watch features striking lime yellow accents that add a fresh touch to the timepiece, perfectly complementing the colour palette of the model.
The watch boasts a stunning silvered sun-ray brushed dial reminiscent of the engine-turned dashboard seen in sports cars in the 1920s and 1930s. The dial is adorned with eight applied, silvered hour markers and 12 blue dot markers, facilitating effortless time reading. Notably, a faceted baton marker at 12 o’clock features a vibrant yellow stripe, serving as a direct connection to the chronograph’s central hand.
The hour and minute hands are enhanced with blue SuperLumiNova® for excellent visibility in all lighting conditions. Complementing this, the lacquered central hand in lime yellow, which adds a pop of colour. Collectively, these design elements harmonise the TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Racing Blue, creating a striking timepiece that captures the spirit of the automotive world.
The watch is powered by the Calibre 11 automatic chronograph movement, encased within a sandblasted grade 2 titanium casing, giving both robustness and lightness to it, and featuring a sapphire caseback, allowing a glimpse into the movement inside.
Coming with a blue calfskin strap with perforations, a signature for watches linked to racing, the strap is secured with a titanium folding clasp, featuring the engraved Heuer logo.
Furthermore, the caseback of the Monaco Chronograph Racing Blue is engraved with the limited edition “One of 1000”, and the watch is presented in a specially designed vibrant blue packaging with lime yellow details.
Available in TAG Heuer boutiques, select retail partners and online.

LIFE IN THE LIFE IN THE
FAST LANE FAST LANE
Throughout the years, supercar racing has delivered a thrilling experience from start to finish. Now, one of the sport’s most legendary colourways is being echoed through time, as Roger Dubuis unveils a watch injected with iconic style.
The new Excalibur Spider Huracán Monobalancier is a masterpiece of design which is inspired by Roger Dubuis’ longlasting partnership with Lamborghini Squadra Corse; while its colourway embraces the iconic fusion of red, white and blue - a tribute to the emblematic racing livery of decades past.
There is detail at every turn with this expressive design. Not only have Roger Dubuis’ obsessive watchmakers created a timepiece of exceptional innovation, but they’ve also enriched every element with supercar style, adopting the sculpted shapes and features that define the famous Lamborghini Huracán.
With its 60-hour power reserve, the RD630 Calibre is a prime example of what happens when incredible watchmakers meet visionary engineers. Roger Dubuis has crafted this highpowered movement with cutting-edge performance, groundbreaking technology, and super-sleek aesthetics.
From your very first glance, you will notice that this impressive Monobalancier instantly transports you to the world of motorsport, while having a truly distinctive edge. The calibre is inspired by the shape of supercar air intakes, while the twin barrels, positioned between 5 and 7 o’clock, are another signature feature of the Maison’s Huracán watches.
Perhaps most audacious of all is the tilted balance wheel at 12 o’clock. In watchmaking, as in supercar racing, it’s the small adjustments that make the biggest difference, and here, Roger Dubuis showcases its ability to transform ordinary components into revolutionary features. The balance wheel has been given a prominent position, to match the rev counter view on the dashboard of the Huracán. However it’s the 12° angle that makes it unique. This innovative tilt compensates for the natural position of a wearer’s wrist when they place it on a table, meaning the balance wheel itself remains in a horizontal and more favourable position. This not only increases performance, but it does so without changing the watch’s proportions. For an extra touch of visual excellence, Roger Dubuis has turned the component around, allowing the wearer to view the spiral
oscillations at the heart of the timepiece.
The calibre’s date display sits at 6 o’clock. Again, Roger Dubuis has found an intriguing way to maximise the design. When viewed from the back, the date-disc shows an indecipherable series of symbols. From the front, however, the disc rotates in front of a coloured decoder, revealing the digits in their clearest form.
Now turn the watch over. From the rear view, there’s one more Huracán surprise in the form of a 360° oscillating weight. Directly inspired by the supercar’s wheel rims, it performs a mesmerizing optical speed effect when it’s in motion.
Steered towards the legendary racing colours of the 1980s and 90s, this 45mm watch is turbo-charged with its own retro spirit. The materials, however, are anything but classic. The modern approach by Roger Dubuis ensures that every detail of design is at a premium standard of performance and durability. This includes the case itself, which is made from black DLC Titanium, a strong yet lightweight material that offers optimal protection for the calibre.
The top of the case is mounted with a white bezel made from a hyper-tech material known as Mineral Composite Fibre (MCF), that is 13% lighter than carbon and 2.5 times lighter than ceramic. Even the crown of this watch has a supercarinspired touch. Modelled after the wheel nut of the Lamborghini Huracán, it is created with a red racing stripe and a series of winglets, which are both striking to look at and ideal for an effective grip. Finally, the Excalibur Huracán logo is blackstamped across the caseback’s sapphire crystal.
Combining comfort, style, and bold versatility, the watch’s strap is another master stroke by Roger Dubuis. Presented in blue with red perforations, the design includes calfskin leather inlays and the exact pattern of a Pirelli Trofeo R tyre on the underside’s black rubber. The addition of a Quick Release System means that the wearer can change the strap out in seconds, and give the watch their own preferred look.
This Excalibur Spider Huracán Monobalancier is limited to just 88 pieces, so don’t blink, you might miss it. For those who live every hour in top gear, it’s a watch that must be worn, whether you enjoy the use of your own Lamborghini Huracán or not.

’s Style
The 70s provided a burst of fashion and colour to everyday lives. The new versions of the Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date from Glashuette, take inspiration not just from the decade’s colourful palette, but from its unique celebration of life as well.
Paisley patterns, floral prints, batik colour gradients - the Seventies were crazy for colour. Loose clothing and embroidered tunics in vivid shades went into the backpack when people set out to discover the world. The Glashütte Original team were inspired by the Seventies bright colours and longing for far-away places, and transformed their magic into two lively timepieces.
The “Golden Bay” and “Ocean Breeze” editions, each limited to 100 pieces, bring a touch of summer to the wrist every day. A harmonious blend of irresistible Seventies style merged with the precise heartbeat of fine German watchmaking.
This year, two matt lacquered dial variants give this model a new look. “Golden Bay“ is a warm ochre tone evocative of far-flung beaches and sunny lagoons, while the light grey-blue “Ocean Breeze” conjures fresh, clear water and waves. The dark shade of the two subdials, in stark contrast to the coloured background, is perfectly complemented by the black hands and display discs of the 12-hour counter and Panorama Date. The
resulting vibrant contrast underscores the independent spirit of the Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date – and that of the person wearing it.
The streamlined case and gently rounded corners are the unmistakable signature of the Seventies line. The chronograph appears in a skilfully polished and satin-brushed 40 x 40 mm stainless steel case that fits every wrist. Sapphire crystals on the front and back ensure optimal views of the dial and movement.
Ticking inside this elegant chronograph is Glashütte Original’s own Calibre 37-02 movement with automatic winding, crafted, decorated and regulated by hand in the watchmaker’s own workshops. The reliable driver of the hour, minute and small second displays, the Panorama Date and the flyback chronograph features up to 70 hours of power reserve. Its filigree components are finely finished in the traditional manner of Glashütte watchmaking: with bevelled and polished edges, polished and blued screws, and with bridges, balance cock and a skeletonised rotor decorated with the famous Glashütte stripe finish.
The two new Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date are available at all Glashütte Original Boutiques and from authorised retailers around the world.

THE TWELVE
Christopher Ward is launching a new, smaller version of The Twelve, its bestselling integrated sports watch.
The Twelve (36) features a 36mm dodecagonal design and comes in four eye-catching colours: Nordic Blue, a lighter Glacier Blue (both familiar from the 40mm version), plus Alta White: a new twist on the bestselling Arctic White, which here becomes warmer, softer and dressier thanks to the use of gold hands and markers. Also exclusive to the Twelve (36) is a minty pale green called Frosted Lichen.
CW designer William Brackfield says the watch is the perfect example of Christopher Ward’s ‘agender’ approach. “There’s a paradigm shift across the industry, with men’s watches getting smaller and ladies’ watches getting bigger. The Twelve (36) is where they meet in the middle. We like to say, ‘Small is big!’”
The Twelve (36) boasts the same textured 3D dial as the original 40mm, but unlike its big brother, has no date window. “To include one, we’d have to lose the entire six o’clock hour marker,” says CEO and co-founder Mike France. “On a smaller dial like this, we prefer the clean, simple look. It’s encouraged us to change the dial furniture, so the hour markers are proportionately slimmer and perhaps even more elegant than on the larger version.”
The dodecagonal bezel, with its brushed, sandblasted and highly polished surfaces, is mirrored perfectly on the backplate, which also serves to display the venerable Sellita SW200-1 through a piece of sapphire crystal.
Like the 40mm, The Twelve (36) is available on a highlyfinished, single-link, integrated bracelet featuring a pleasing taper and a seamless, hidden, butterfly clasp. The watches
are also available on four matching lightweight rubber straps – perfect for warmer weather. “One of the joys of The Twelve (36) is swapping between the bracelet and rubber straps,” says William Brackfield. “Something that’s easy to do thanks to our quick-release system. It’s almost like owning two watches!”
The Twelve(36) retails for £1,050 on a bracelet and £850 with rubber strap.

AaronHank
Marking the life, legacy and humanitarianism of baseball Hallof-Famer Hank Aaron, one of the sport’s all-time greats, the new classic is based on the Big Crown that captures the story of a great humanitarian. He never sought the spotlight, but it found him because of his many achievements. Throughout his career, he encountered racism on and off the field, yet rose above it with grace and dignity to become a symbol of perseverance and strength through adversity, and an agent of social change.
Born in Mobile, Alabama, in 1934, Aaron was a natural athlete and entered baseball’s Negro Leagues in 1951, at a time when black players still endured segregation. In 1954, he was recruited to MLB by the Milwaukee Braves, which later became the Atlanta Braves. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1986, and in 1999, MLB created the Hank Aaron Award, awarded annually to the best overall offensive performer in each league. Aaron’s humility on the field would shine through in his retirement. In 1994, he and his wife Billye founded the Chasing the Dream Foundation, awarding millions of dollars in scholarships to youth with limited opportunities. To date, it’s helped over 800 kids into higher education, many going on to become athletes, musicians, doctors, scientists and, most importantly, educators.
Aaron died in 2021, a baseball great, and an even greater humanitarian. As he said: “I am not concerned with how I am perceived as a baseball player. I am concerned with how I am thought of as a human being.”
Such was the power of Aaron’s character that Muhammad Ali once described him as “the only man I idolize more than myself.” Just as people give watches to mark special occasions, Oris has
created a watch to remember one of baseball’s most special men.
The watch is based on Oris’s signature design, the Big Crown Pointer Date, with touches that point to the great man and his record-breaking career. The colour palette of blue, red and white is inspired by Hank Aaron’s famous baseball uniform. The palette is subtly applied to reflect Aaron’s humble attitude: in the blueoutlined red numerals; in the red-outlined blue minutes ring that runs around the dial; and in the blue leather
Hank Aaron is an inspiration. He broke down racial barriers, rewrote the record books and devoted his life to others strap, which is finished with white stitching akin to the stitching on a baseball glove. It comes with an interchangeable blue, red and white NATO fabric strap and a strap change tool.
Beyond, the watch is the familiar Big Crown, with a smooth, ergonomic round case in 40mm of stainless steel; a central pointer date hand with a red tip; a fluted bezel reminiscent of classic pilot’s watches; and an oversized crown, first added to an Oris watch in 1938 as a device for gloved airmen. The case back is engraved with a motif of Hank Aaron and his famous cross-handed batting stance, another thing that set him apart in the world of baseball.
“To be able to collaborate with the Hank Aaron family and the Chasing the Dream Foundation, and to commemorate Hank Aaron, is a true honour,” said Rolf Studer, Oris Co-CEO. “Mr Aaron is an inspiration. He broke down racial barriers, rewrote the record books and devoted his life to the service of others. For Oris, it is a great privilege to be able to support his legacy and the foundation as it continues its mission to bring Change for the Better to the lives of disadvantaged young people.”

TUDOR
ALINGHI RED BULL RACING
To celebrate its partnership with Alinghi Red Bull Racing, Tudor has unveiled two brand new Pelagos FXD models: a chronograph and a time-only watch inspired by yacht racing. With cases made from carbon composite, titanium, and stainless steel and fitted with manufacture calibres, these watches embody the daring spirit that is needed to be a contender in the most competitive yacht race in history.
The Pelagos FXD “Alinghi Red Bull Racing Edition” models come with several firsts for Tudor, that go beyond just the watches.
A long-term partnership between Tudor and Alinghi Red Bull Racing was launched in 2022, the first time Tudor ventured into the world of competitive yacht racing. In this centuries-old sport, victory comes by fusing a resolutely daring human spirit with the most cutting-edge technology. The watches were born out of this philosophy, by combining a high-tech carbon composite, a first for Tudor, with titanium and stainless steel, just like on an AC75 (America’s Cup 75) hydrofoil racing yacht. It’s also the first time Tudor has integrated a chronograph calibre into a fixed strap- bars case.
The daring and innovative spirit of Tudor is on full display when it comes to the two new Pelagos FXD and Pelagos FXD Chrono models. The watches are imbued with the spirit of Tudor and Alinghi Red Bull Racing; two separate entities that share the vision of pushing traditional boundaries.
The Alinghi Red Bull Racing AC75 represents the very best in cutting-edge maritime engineering, utilising a proprietary blend of carbon, titanium and stainless steel to give shape to a hull that leaps out of the water at speed. The same pursuit of technical mastery is applied to the Pelagos FXD models, which similarly combine a high-tech carbon composite for the case and bezel insert, an extremely light and robust material, with titanium for the bezel, crown and direct-action pushers and 316L stainless steel for the case back and movement container. Using the 200-meter water-resistant FXD case design, characterised by its fixed strap bars and initially developed with French navy combat divers, these models both come with a bidirectional 120-notch rotatable bezel that utilises Swiss Super-LumiNova® Grade X1, a luminous material showing a performance increase of up to 60% after two hours compared to standard grades. These bezels
tudorwatch.com
are graduated from 60 to 0, so as to allow for easy tracking of countdowns, a key moment before the start of a regatta. The above package results in distinctive, high-tech mechanical sports watches with the Alinghi Red Bull Racing logo engraved on the case back to further enhance the collaboration.
Wearing the same hue of the hull of the AC75, the matte dials put legibility first and foremost. While both dials are finished in Alinghi Red Bull Racing Team Blue with a red-tipped second hand, the Chronograph model features red accents around the counters to further hint at the aesthetics of the AC75, namely the red stripes on the hull. On the 45° angled rehaut, between 10 and 2, a subtle “Alinghi Red Bull Racing” mention overarches the dial’s layout. The signature square hour-markers and “Snowflake” hands, designed back in the sixties by Tudor to offer larger luminous surfaces and thus improve legibility, are fashioned from luminescent ceramic composite for optimal legibility in challenging conditions.
The single-piece fabric strap is one of the hallmarks of Tudor, which in 2010, became one of the first watchmaking brands to offer it with its watches. Woven in France on 19th century Jacquard looms by the Julien Faure company in the St-Etienne region, its manufacturing quality, robustness and comfort on the wrist are unique. For the Pelagos FXD models, a highly technical strap construction was developed by Tudor and Julien Faure. Made up of a 22 mm “Team Blue” jacquard-woven
ribbon with red accents and a titanium “D” buckle with a selfgripping fastening system, it adapts to different wrist sizes and is very comfortable to wear.
The Manufacture Calibre MT5602, which powers the Pelagos FXD, displays hour, minute and seconds functions. It offers the signature look and feel of Tudor Manufacture Calibres. Its rotor in tungsten monobloc is openwork and its bridges and mainplate have alternate sand-blasted and polished surfaces topped with laser decorations. Its build is designed to ensure robustness and precision. To do this, the variable inertia balance wheel is maintained by a sturdy traversing bridge with twopoint anchoring. This system, together with its non-magnetic silicon hairspring, means the Manufacture Calibre MT5602 is both certified by the COSC and able to function beyond the specification of that standard, that is within a tolerance range of 6 seconds (-2/+4) per day, always tested on every single fully assembled watch.
Another notable feature is that the power reserve of the Manufacture Calibre MT5602 is “weekend-proof”; it enables the wearer to take the watch off on a Friday evening and put it back on again on Monday morning without having to wind it. Even if you need a weekend away, your watch does not.
In keeping with the Tudor philosophy of quality, it presents extraordinary robustness and reliability, guaranteed by the array of extreme tests applied to all Tudor products.

The Finest of Dining
Pétrus continues to lead the way in both culinary exploration and restaurant service. You are certain to enjoy one of the finest dining experiences in London whatever menu you choose, whether you opt to indulge in the luxurious wine pairing or not.
For one night only, Dom Pérignon and Chef Clare Smyth celebrate the journey of creation and reinvention with an exclusive six-course dining experience paired with Dom Pérignon Vintages that looks back to the past.
On 14 November 2023 guests are invited to experience a series of CORE by Clare Smyth classics that have been perfected and revisited over the years, embodying the concept that creativity is an ongoing journey. Diners will enjoy the best of British produce that evokes emotions of nostalgia connected to Clare’s own journey and love of nature. “I grew up on a farm and I had a deep understanding of what it took to produce food. It would have been in my late twenties that I started to understand what food meant to me personally, this was my part of my journey. We must be connected to our food. It must create an emotion, a memory, warmth, hospitality, generosity,” explains Clare.
Dom Pérignon's creative legacy is the reinvention of its work with each vintage just as Clare reinvents her culinary creations as she gains maturity and knowledge through her career. Such culinary creations on the night will include Cornish Turbot with crab, cucumber and ras el hanout broth inspired by Dom Pérignon Plénitude 2 - the second life of Dom Pérignon as well as Sutton Hoo Chicken inspired by Dom Pérignon Rosé 2008, a powerful and complex wine that creates great synergy between the cockles, clams, caviar and chicken.
A JOURNEY OF CREATION
“Nature is different every day in what it gives us. It’s about experiences, and experience in life, and working with produce that teaches us we cannot take these things as a given each time we taste them.
In our memory we store flavours which is a gift we must tap into. When we taste at a vintage or an ingredient and then see the same thing come back in 5 or 10 years’ time, with life experience and knowledge, the older we get, the more we get to know something and understand it. The more I’ve understood and got to know Dom Perignon, the more I can also draw on those flavours in my memory to help me create.”

A K ASHI-TAI JAPANESE SAKE
The restaurant scene across London has enjoyed a noticable increase in the sake offering on menus with a host of premium options coming to the fore.
One such company is Akashi-Tai who is the UK’s number one premium sake brand, with its artisan sake being handmade in small batches by Toji (Sake Master) Kimio Yonezawa, 4th generation of sake makers since 1856.
Named after its home city, Akashi-Tai’s sake is produced by an independent family-run brewery. Using only the highest quality and locally produced ingredients such as Yamadanishiki - considered the king of sake rice - and spring water from the Akashi region, the beverage is made by fermenting rice that has been polished to remove the bran. Delivering a full range of sake to suit all tastes and every occasion, from a deliciously light aperitif, to a Japanese twist on celebratory events and is the ideal partner for elevated food pairing.
One of the finest and more unique amongst them is a deliciously refreshing liquor made with fresh yuzus from the Hyogo prefecture. Smooth and fruity, Ginjo Yuzushu can be enjoyed all by itself with its rich, citrus piquancy and balanced sweetness with the tang of yuzu and as a cooling spritz or vibrant addition to other cocktails.

Fish Game
Restaurateur since 2009, Roberto Costa is more well-known for his much-loved Italian restaurant group Macellaio RC. Always looking for new ideas, he was inspired to open Fish Game in Canary Wharf this July. As a charcoal grill restaurant and true to its name, Fish Game features ultra-seasonal, sustainable British ingredients with a paired back changing menu of the UK’s best game and fish, meticulously sourced from the UK’s lands and surrounding waters.
Roberto fell in love with Great Britain and travelled all around the Island discovering great farmers and producers who wanted to showcase their finest quality products and in doing so he came up with the idea of expressing English Biodiversity in the most ancestral way by cooking simply on charcoal and ash. Even today, in the English countryside, it is now common to find a fishmonger who produces game too and the perfect balance found between the two different kinds of meats merits Fish Game’s ethos. Roberto believes game in the UK is something to be taken very seriously, not just for the birds or the animals but also the tradition and respect for the seasons and the historical pairing of fish and game.
The unique menu combines the finest British fish and game, expertly paired with Roberto’s Italian culinary expertise and cooked to perfection. Dishes include Rabbit croquettes with
marjoram mayonnaise and lemon zest, Native Oysters, Crab and pork bao with curry sauce, Tigella bread with offal, rabbit, lemon and parsley gravy, Wild trout on toast with cucumber, smoky salad and fresh chilli, Mussels with venison nduja and Sea bream butterfly with datterino tomato, taggiasca olives and pine nuts. Believing “Spicy is sexy’’ Fish Game has selected a hand-picked assortment of exotic wild chillies to add freshness to their dishes.
Whilst Fish Game is something of a departure from all Italian Macellaio RC, Roberto Costa’s ethos when it comes to cooking is of balance, simplicity and authenticity and it is the core of Fish Game. Executive Head Chef, Matthew Colk (previously, the Roast and The Gun Pub) has worked closely alongside Roberto to bring Fish Game to Life.
Adding to the appeal of Fish Game is a tequila bar, where Aperitivo is served daily, bringing a touch of Italy to London. The wine list menu includes more than 200 wine labels from all around the world with a large focus on small, artisan producers. & CHAMPAGNE CHEESE
September can be an unpredictable month. We can expect either long, warm afternoons ahead or cooler autumnal afternoons waiting for us. Whatever the British weather decides to throw our way, cheese and wine is a winner for any dinner party or afternoon spent lounging on the commons. As such, The Champagne Bureau UK wanted to highlight the ways in which different Champagne styles can be paired with a range of cheeses to create a flavourful combination.
Champagne pairs extraordinarily well with cheese, the complex aromas in the Champagne and the equally complex flavours from the cheese produce an original taste sensation. The contrast between the Champagne’s acidity and the cheese’s creaminess means that Champagne has the ability to cut through the high fat content - making the pairing a particularly successful one. Another aspect of the Champagne and cheese pairing that makes it so enticing is the juxtaposition between temperatures. Chilling Champagne is essential to enjoy the full extent of its finesse. The best way to chill a bottle of Champagne is to plunge it into an ice bucket half filled with water and ice for around 30 minutes until it reaches a temperature of 8 to 10 degrees Celsius. If you
are running short on time, add two tablespoons of salt to the cold water. This will bring your bottle to the perfect temperature within 30 minutes. In contrast, the best way to serve cheese is at room temperature to achieve the utmost in flavour, aroma, and texture.
Blanc de Blancs and Camembert
The term “Blanc de Blancs” designates Champagnes in which there are no black grape varieties present. As such, this style is light to taste, bright and refreshing and often possesses notes of white flowers and citrus fruits. These wines are marked by a balance between citrus acidity and light mellowness which means that Blanc de Blancs are excellent at cutting through the fattiness of rich and flavourful cheeses. A perfect example of this is a crowd favourite…camembert, baked with rosemary and a sprinkle of sea salt.
Blanc de Noirs and Parmesan
Parmesan cheese will match the more powerful flavours and balanced acidity of a Blanc de Noirs. This Champagne style is particularly good at cutting through the fattiness of the cheese.
To find out more about Champagne visit champagne.fr or enrol at champagne-mooc.com
Produced entirely from black grape varieties such as Pinot Noir or Meunier, Blanc de Noirs generally have more body than wines that include white grape varieties in their blend. As such, these Champagnes give the impression of power, density and structure and have what is known as “vinosity” - the sensation of heat on the palate, an excellent parmesan accompaniment.
Brut and Comté
A young Comté, which will have more delicate, sweeter flavours that are packed full of the aromas of citrus fruits and onion. This
cheese pairs perfectly with a Champagne Brut, which brings with it a very crisp flavour. This style has an endless array of aromas, and each grape variety brings its own touch. We would select a Brut made up of mostly Chardonnay with citrus and white fruit notes - this pairing produces wonderful hints of gooseberry and grape.
Rosé and Goats’ Cheese
Rosé Champagne can be produced in two ways: Blending and Macerating. Rosé offers such a wide spectrum of aromas with some wines developing notes of freshness containing hints of citrus fruits and strawberries or, in contrast, aromas that are smoother and more powerful such as ripe yellow and small red fruits. As these wines age, these aromas develop notes of dried fruit and spices - offering a unique versatility that not all styles can. We would choose to pair a soft and mellow Rosé that has floral and fresh fruit notes with a goats’ cheese such as Crottin de Chavignol. This pairing is sure to impress.

CHARGING FORWARD
BMW continue to push their electrification offering forward with the introduction of multiple models including the impressive i7. Delivering the same level of quality owners have come to expect from the 7 Series now in fully electric guise.
i7
Pushing the boundaries of luxury on the road travel is something BMW's 7 series knows all too well. Delivering an experience for driver and passengers to rival the very best and introducing new technologies since its launch all the way back in 1977.
Today, the model line continues this theme, bringing the very latest in design and technology to the production line and now boasts a selection of fully electric options to push the 7 series into the future of driving.
The latest generation of the marque's flagship saloon redefines the luxury segment once again. With an incredible electrification offering - currently totalling seven model variants - from the eDrive50 Excellence through to the range topping M70 xDrive boasting 455hp and 659hp respectively and 0-62mph times of 5.5 and lightning quick 3.7 seconds, there is an i7 to suit every driver.
What's more, BMW have now also introduced i7 Protection for those in need of some additional safety when on the road. Delivering your i7 with VR9 grade protection - one of the highest available on a civilian vehicle - meaning you'll be ready for almost anything that comes at you.
Innovation is where the 7 series truly shines and this latest generation is no different. Of course, the obvious advances come in the shape of the full electrification of the i7 variants, but there is a whole host of additional aspects within that push the BMW i7 to new levels of luxury travel. A rather significant step up from its predecessor, the new 7 series provides a vastly improved driving experience for both driver and passenger thanks to advances in design and digital technologies across the board.
Plug-in technology now features on every 7 series available in the UK, with just two plug-in hybrid options - 750e xDrive and M760e xDrive - in addition to the extensive electric offering for those not quite ready for the jump to all-electric just yet.
Continuing the new design ethos of the brand, the i7 features an exaggerated front 'kidney' grille - which varies depending on the model trim chosen including 'sportier' black detail on M Sport models - while a split headlight configuration adds a distinctive design element to the cars front end and consequent presence on the road, which is undeniable anyway thanks to its size. This modern, angular and sophisticated front-end design is reserved for the brand's luxury models defining it not only from its competitors, but the rest of the stable too.
The aforementioned size isn't simply a design illusion, the new i7 has grown by 130mm in length, 48mm in width and 51mm in height compared to the previous generation 7 series with a wheelbase that is 5mm longer to further enhance passenger comfort in the rear. Coinciding with this, the headroom has also been significantly improved for an all-round enhancement in comfort for both passenger and driver alike.
i7 comes with adaptive LED headlights as standard which includes cornering lights, matrix high beam and the BMW selective beam non-dazzling high beam assistant which automatically adjusts the light to maintain maximum illumination while avoiding dazzling oncoming traffic. Optional BMW crystal headlights Iconic Glow are also available, delivering a light show unlike any other car on the road. Swarovski crystals - arranged in L-shapes and each backlit by 14 LED units - perform the role of sidelights and daytime driving lights, with the crystals reflecting the light in a multitude of facets even when they are off. At night, 22 LED units light up the crystals from behind and team up with the kidney grille’s contour lighting to create an unmistakable light graphic. Lighting on the rear of the car is simple and sleek with subtle yet distinguished "L" shape units offering elegant LED clusters in a slim aesthetic.
Inside you will find one of the most luxurious and advanced cabins on the road. Simple, sleek and stylish, the interior is a welcoming space that is bursting with technology just as much for an improved driving experience as for the ultimate passenger ride.
The BMW curved display, interaction bar and newly designed gear selector deliver driving pleasure in abundance. Taking complex switchgear and replacing it all with clean, functional and easy to use interfaces that make even the hardest of adjustments the most simple tasks while on the road, you can adapt your driving experience on the go with
effortless use of the user-friendly system. Everything from selecting your favourite song to altering the ride profile of the car can be achieved with minimal distraction.
The fully digital screen grouping consists of a 12.3-inch information display behind the steering wheel and a 14.9" control display. Arranged beneath a shared glass surface, the displays are directed ergonomically towards the driver, making the already intuitive touch control even more straightforward.
Behind, a luxurious lounge atmosphere welcomes passengers. Adjustable seating that allows an almost lie-flat experience is beyond comfortable with more space than you will know what to do with and is combined with the most spectacular theatre screen around.
Delivering unmatched in-car entertainment, the 31.3" 8K touchscreen display which elegantly rotates down from the roof comes complete with Amazon Fire TV built-in and pairs with the impressive Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system - which also offers optional in-seat exciters - built-in touch screen remote controls in the door panels and an automated rear shade system that will close when the theatre screen is turned on.
This incredible system allows passengers to enjoy 4K, UHD content from popular apps, stream videos, play games, listen to music, get information, and watch downloaded programs - all while on the road - offering one of the most comfortable, luxurious and private ways to travel.
BMW i 7 x DRIVE 60 M SPORT
The screen itself stretches horizontally across virtually the full width of the interior and folds into the ceiling out of the way when not in use. It can be moved closer or further from the rear passengers to put it within arm’s reach for touch controls or to manoeuvre it to the preferred viewing distance.
Driving you i7 couldn't be easier and you can enjoy it in the comfort of knowing every step has been take to create the most sustainable and environmentally conscious car possible. The electric motors work according to the principle of an electrically excited synchronous motor, where it is a precisely controllable electrical feed that sets the rotor in motion, rather than using fixed permanent magnets. This means the use of rare-earth metals is avoided altogether in the manufacture of the rotor.
This virtually silent, instantaneous power delivery creates a smooth, comfortable and pleasurable driving experience. The motor driving the rear wheels generates a peak output of 313hp, while the unit at the front produces 258hp. Combined, the drive units deliver a maximum output of 544hp with a total torque of 745Nm. All of which enables the new i7 xDrive60 to accelerate from 0 to 62mph in 4.7 seconds.
Supporting the power is a dynamic prowess achieved thanks to the electric all-wheel drive which includes precisely tuned driving stability systems headlined by the near-actuator wheel slip limitation. The fully variable drive system is intelligently connected with the system of powertrain and chassis control functions, whose extremely quick and precise responses help to sustain dynamic driving even in adverse road and weather conditions.
Despite its size, this is a car that is just as enjoyable to drive as it is to be driven in, but there's no denying the truly spectacular interior space that BMW have created here.

CHARGED UP CLASSIC
BMW's 700 came at a time when the company was on the brink of financial crisis and saved the company with impressive sales success. It featured a steel monocoque structure which was the first time a BMW car boasted such technology.
Launching with both the coupé and saloon options, the 700 Sport was the first variant to join the original model line-up and was later renamed 700 CS in 1963. It featured an uprated engine with a pair of Solex carburetors boasting a 40PS output. This example however has transformed the previously rear-engined 1964 700 CS into a fully electric offering.
Amalgamating modern technology with cool 1960's style, this rare, fully restored 700 CS is presented in striking white coachwork
with an original grey style interior. The restoration was undertaken by classic car specialists Southern Classics to the tune of £37,000 complete with invoices and CD detailing every stage of the extensive works carried out.
The car was converted to fully electric by eDub Services at a cost of £28,000 again with invoices showing the works undertaken and has transformed a classic BMW into the perfect emission free city car. It also comes with the original workshop manuals and an extensive file.
This is a rare opportunity to get your hands on an incredibly interesting and rare classic that has modern functionality and useability.
Despite concerns over rising interest rates and increased price sensitivity, prime London residential values have remained remarkably resilient. However, property chains have become fragile under the pressure of current market conditions. Liza-Jane Kelly, head of Savills London Residential details how buyers and sellers can navigating the current market and keep their chains together.
Price realistically from the start to attract buyers
In a more considered property market getting the price right at the launch of a property is vital to achieving the best possible sales price. Adopting a pricing strategy helps generate enthusiasm in buyers, especially in a more subdued market. Given current market status, the best approach is to launch at a keener price, in
BUYING OR SELLING
with Liza-Jane Kelly, Head of Savills Londonline with fair value, to attract immediate attention and encourage competition. Whatever the market, buyers are encouraged by competition that the right price can create.
Be willing to negotiate
Be prepared to negotiate and don’t be too rigid in your sales price expectations - an asking price should be aspirational after all. If a buyer feels the price is reasonable and fair, they’ll be far less likely to try to negotiate later on after an offer has been accepted which can cause havoc prior to exchange (gazundering). It’s not all about price however – think creatively too - consider offering to include white goods and/or curtains instead of reducing the price to seal the deal.
While buyers and sellers should be realistic on price, buyers should be wary of offering well below the asking price - this can cause offence to the vendor and in some cases they may think the buyer isn’t serious and therefore refuse to negotiate further.
Be flexible on completion dates
As a seller, consider exchanging with a long completion date. This flexibility will strengthen your profile as a buyer and help you navigate uncertainties with your own purchase. With a greater selection of properties available, this advantage outweighs the risk of being “out of the market”.
Buyers who can demonstrate flexibility will benefit too as sellers will often welcome the added security and goodwill it provides. If you can be flexible on move dates then say so as this will likely put you in a favourable position.
Oiling the chain
If you find yourself entering a chain, make sure you know the status of every buyer and seller involved. Buyers and sellers should appoint a good solicitor or licensed conveyancer who will communicate across the chain. The right solicitor will provide invaluable legal advice and support and smooth the conveyancing process. Hold your nerve once you’ve had an offer accepted and resist the temptation to chip at the price. It could trigger a mortgage revaluation that could derail the whole chain - and you may lose credibility with the vendor and agent - potentially putting the purchase at risk.
Get set to go
It’s equally important for buyers and sellers to get their ducks in a row ahead of time. Buyers should have a mortgage agreement in principle, while cash buyers should be able to demonstrate proof of funds.
Aside from presenting your home for sale in its best light, sellers should also have a solicitor in place. It’s also helpful to draft answers to the most common questions you are likely to be asked by potential buyers. Give your agent all the information about your property at the start so they can answer potential buyers questions without delay. If your property is leasehold, speak to the managing agent and ensure the management pack is ready.
In the 35 years I’ve been a kitchen design specialist, the demands we make on our kitchens have grown enormously. Long-outdated is the ‘kitchen work triangle’ theory designed in the 1920s to ensure us poor ladies had the most ergonomic environment possible when spending 12 hours a day doing manual tasks without any timesaving appliances. Kitchens are now larger, many open-plan with seating and dining areas and considerably more sophisticated with multiple appliances. We require our kitchens to provide a dynamic entertaining environment, work-from-home and homework spaces and a place to relax and recuperate. If designed with care, a kitchen can be all of these and support your everyday life by ensuring maximum organisation and an optimum layout. Spend time to look at how you and your family move around

and utilise your current kitchen. Is there a bottleneck in the mornings to get breakfast? Do you trip over your dishwasher door whilst trying to serve supper? Analysing your daily routines should help to guide your wish-list and layout requirements.
At the top of most wish-lists is an island, large enough to perhaps cook on, certainly to prep and serve food and provide relaxed seating for family and guests. It's a place where guests can sip on fine wines while engaging in lively conversations as the host effortlessly crafts appetizers. For a well-considered kitchen I would never advise having a sink on an island. As the focal point of the kitchen, do you really want to draw attention to what is the grubbiest element of the kitchen?! A hob on an island is a good

choice and many can be installed flush into the worksurface for a seamless look. The latest technology in downdraft ventilation has now removed the need for a clunky ceiling extractor and if you have difficulty in ducting through your subfloor, recirculating versions are extreme effective at removing smells etc.
One of my favourite new additions to kitchen design is a dedicated pocket-door or bi-fold cabinet. These can be specifically set-up as a ‘bar’ or ‘coffee’ area with worksurface, sockets for machines, drawers for coffee capsules and shelves for mugs and espresso cups. Or perhaps a baking cabinet where you can plug in your mixer ready to use with all the attachments, flours and other baking equipment all in one place, ready to use whenever the baking whim takes you. We have recently designed a children’s cabinet with a built-under fridge, a juicer and snack drawers to encourage the family to be independent and make healthy choices, also minimising clashes in the main prep area.
A pantry, whether walk-in or integrated into the cabinetry, is another ‘must-have’ and a great way to ensure you have everything in sight and in one place. The ultimate pantry transcends convenience, incorporating a prep area equipped with cuttingedge appliances, wine fridge and a compact sink for quick rinses transforming the pantry into a self-contained gourmet haven.
Crittal and equivalent screens and doors have exploded in popularity in the past few years and are being used for innovative pantry solutions creating a visual feast for who like to ‘refill’ and take pride in their glass jar collection of dried foods. The pantry is a much better solution than wall cupboards where items at the back tend to be forgotten for months and sometimes years! Wall cupboards have gone out of trend with open shelving taking their place. Whilst limiting ‘practical’ storage options, shelves can really open up a space and create areas of interest with plants, pictures and stacks of beautiful crockery in a curated display.
Constructing a ‘wash-up area’ is another clever way to utilise glass screens. Whilst not closing down the space, a glass-screened ‘ante-room’ can provide a functional yet attractive way to partition off the dirty pans and dishes in an open-plan area where one might not want to be looking at the washing-up to be done whilst entertaining. “Broken-plan’ is term that’s been coined by designers to help to mitigate some of the issues of an open-plan kitchen. Creating flexibility in an openplan space by breaking the room down into zones without losing visual connection can be a successful alternative for many busy households. Sliding pocket doors, vertical slatted screens and openbacked floor-to-ceiling shelving can all be utilised to great effect to produce a cosier environment with less sound transmission.
Crafting the ultimate kitchen is an art that blends the utilitarian with the extravagant. The inclusion of a meticulously designed pantry elevates the culinary experience, while dedicated activity areas infuse the space with purpose and comfort. Through the careful selection of materials, appliances, and layout, a luxury kitchen transforms into more than just a cooking area - it becomes a testament to the homeowner's devotion to an elevated lifestyle.
