There never seems to be a shortage of arts and culture events to attend in middle Tennessee. Here are just a handful of upcoming art exhibits, music events, plays and more that we can’t wait to see!

MAY 5 – MAY 15 Camelot Studio 10 studiotenn.org Based on The Once and Future King by T.H. White, this is a small cast version adapted by David Lee. The legendary love triangle of King Arthur, Guinevere and Sir Lancelot leaps from the pages of T.H. White’s novel in Lerner and Loewe’s award-winning, soaring musical.

MAY 15 C.S. Lewis’ The Great Divorce Tennessee Performing Arts Center tpac.org C.S. Lewis’ mesmerizing fantasy about heaven, hell and the choice between them, comes to life with Lewis’ signature wit, excellent actors and dazzling, state-of-the-art stagecraft! Lewis’ brilliantly drawn characters take a fantastic bus trip from hell to the outskirts of paradise. Each receives an opportunity to stay... or return to hell, forever divorced from heaven. The choice proves more challenging than imagined.

MAY 25 Prohibition with the Nashville Symphony Schermerhorn Symphony Center nashvillesymphony.org Celebrate the Roaring ‘20s with the Nashville Symphony in this musical journey through the cabarets and speakeasies of New York, Paris and beyond. Featuring guest singers, dancers and musicians, this evening of classic jazz revisits some of the greatest artists of the 1920s, from Rudy Vallée to Josephine Baker, from Kurt Weill to King Oliver, accompanied by vintage photos and video.

MAY 26 – MAY 28 Leslie Odom, Jr. with the Nashville Symphony Schermerhorn Symphony Center nashvillesymphony.org The sensational Tony and GRAMMY® Award-winning star of Hamilton joins your Nashville Symphony for a night of jazz standards and Broadway hits. In addition to his breakout role on stage, he has appeared in TV and film, including the acclaimed Harriet. You won’t want to miss his first-ever appearance at Schermerhorn Symphony Center as he sings favorite songs, including “Wait for It,” “Dear Theodosia,” “Without You,” “Sunny Side of the Street,” “Autumn Leaves,” “You Send Me,” “Minnie the Moocher” and many more.

MAY 26 The Odd Couple Pull-Tight Theatre pull-tight.com As an antidote to a couple of rough pandemic years, Pull-Tight revisits this beloved audience favorite. The fun begins as fastidious and tightly wound Felix Unger, just separated from his wife, moves in with recently divorced Oscar Madison, whose slovenly and careless ways probably contributed to the breakup of his marriage. A cast of pokerplaying buddies and a date night with the Pigeon sisters round out an evening full of hilarity and heart.
