About HOBY Korea
Excel to Lead Hugh O’Brian created our organization HOBY, Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Foundation, after meeting Dr. Albert Schweitzer in Africa, inspired by his simple statement: “The most important thing in education is to teach young people to think for themselves.” HOBY seeks to teach teenagers how to think, not what to think, and strives to motivate them to act in service to others. This is the reason HOBY Korea became a part of HOBY. HOBY Korea has been an international partner of HOBY (Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Foundation in the U.S.) for the Republic of Korea since 2003, currently run by Education Association for Software Empowerment (EASE). We are the first to introduce unique HOBY-style leadership programs to Korea which was sensational and changed the whole trend of youth programs in Korea. Following HOBY’s vision and mission, HOBY Korea is committed to giving future Korean leaders an opportunity to develop their leadership skills and empowring them to make a positive and meaningful difference within our global society. HOBY Korea is a non-profit organization registered in Seoul Metropolitan City and a registered Civil Social Organization of NGO Branch of UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs. HOBY Korea has also partnered with Korean American Civic Empowerment (KACE) and Korea for the Federation of Korean Associations USA, and worked with foreign embassies in Seoul to give Korean youth to meet US senators and representatives, experiencing world politics and international affairs.

Knowledge To Lead emposw-youth.org These days, research needs to find more effective and creative solutions for various challenges of sustainable development that demand crossing two or more disciplines to generate new knowledge and drive innovation. ‘KNOWLEDGE TO LEAD (ISSN 2765-0626)’ is one of the platforms EASE and HOBY KOREA provide with young scholars to explore knowledge and skills across disciplines. This youth interdisciplinary, inclusive journal provides middle school and high school students with an opportunity to publish their manuscripts and research proposals in various research fields so that they can stimulate intellectual curiosity, broaden the perspective towards social phenomena and global issues, and enhance creative problem-solving skills. We encourage and support the will, passion, efforts and practice of teenagers who do any kind of research activities regardless of how skilled they are or how significant or small their researches are.
