Our structured training program picks up where your pre-licensing classes leave off and gets you “real-world” experience in real estate.

SOME COMPANIES TELL ME THAT THE BRAND OF THE BROKERAGE COMPANY DOESN’T MATTER, AND THAT IT’S ALL ABOUT THE INDIVIDUAL AGENT’S BRAND. IS THIS TRUE? WHAT IS COLDWELL BANKER’S COMMISSION SPLIT? WHAT ABOUT SOCALLED “FLAT-FEE” AND “CAP” PROGRAMS AT OTHER COMPANIES? We offer a traditional graduated-split plan, which means that you make more as you sell more. This rewards agents with ongoing productivity and incentivizes growth. Our program offers aggressive splits in which you keep more of your money much faster than at other traditional companies. There are lots of alternative models out there. Some charge a “flat fee” per transaction and others say they offer a “cap.” The problem with these models is that the company is more worried about hiring more agents (quantity) rather than making their agents more successful and growing their business (quality). Once you’ve “capped,” what incentive does a broker have to help you grow your business any further? We think of you as a partner in business. When you win, we win. While most of the discussion at other companies with alternative plans revolves around how to slice up the pie to give you a bigger piece, we focus on helping you grow the pie.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REAL ESTATE BROKER IN WASHINGTON STATE PROCESS In order to become a licensed Real Estate Broker, you must first complete an approved 90 clock hour course in Real Estate Fundamentals. Upon completion of this course, your school will provide you with information on registering for an examination appointment. Passing candidates can complete an Application for a Real Estate License with the first license fee online.

WASHINGTON STATE RENEWING PROCESS If you are an actively licensed Broker, you must complete 30 hours of approved real estate education, including 3 hours of prescribed core curriculum, to renew your license every 2 years. If you are a Broker actively renewing for the first time, you must also complete a 60-hour course in real estate practices, for a total of 90 hours. If your license is inactive, you are not required to submit continuing education at the time of renewal.

EDUCATION OVERVIEW Tomlinson Education Programs are designed to keep our agents up-to-date and on the cutting edge of real estate. Whether it’s a small class for newer agents, a day of fun and education presented by a well-known national speaker, or an exclusive seminar by our own attorney on current real estate issues, we provide agents with both timely and interesting training throughout the year.

NEW AGENTS We offer newly licensed agents an intense one week training. These classes are small and provide individual attention in many important areas. They are designed to help the new agent gain the knowledge and confidence to immediately start listing and selling. Guest speakers include our in-house attorney and our Sales Manager, Relocation Director, Director of Training as well as other knowledgeable contributors.

CONTINUING EDUCATION Our Education Department also offers numerous classes at no charge on subjects important to the experienced Realtor. Whether it’s a refresher on listing techniques, a class on web-based tools, or the latest information regarding handling of short sales, our Education Department is on the cutting edge. Core, Code of Ethics, and PSA classes are offered throughout the year at no charge to our agents.
