Project 1 : New Norm of Libraries Space and Capacity
The library provide all kind of spaces to serve different function and varies groups of user. Such as, discussion room, children reading zone, computer lab, interactive multimedia learning room, meeting room, creative room and others.
Due to the pandemic and the compliance of social distancing listed in the SOP, the capacity of the library had significantly decreased.
Project 1 : New Norm of Libraries Intervention The architecture intervention allows more reading space surrounding the library which also try to follow the SOP in a creative way. The intervention can be spread like a virus around the city to encourage the reading behavior.
Stair – like reading space to create social distancing and serve as a bookshelf to store books under sitting place. To utilized the space more efficiently in the pandemic situation.
Mirrored reading space to avoid face to face situation which might increase the risk of spreading virus, while also allow user to connect with each other.
Reading capsule to avoid physical contact between user while promoting automated and digitalized reading services and sanitization.

PROJECT 2 : URBAN STRATEGY
Project 2 : Urban Strategy Sentul Depot
Background Sentul Depot Located at Sentul West, Kuala Lumpur was once the largest complex of railway workshop in Malaysia with a history dating back to 1905. The 200,000 square feet depot was once the finest engineering workshops in the word and served the needs of the federated Malay States Railways (FMSR) in the early 1900s up to the early 2000s for Keratapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTM Berhad)

Project 2 : Urban Strategy Site Issue & Programs & Design Aim Site Issue •
Privatization of the Land
•
Access to the park
•
Low Average Income of Surrounding Community

Project 2 : Urban Strategy Preliminary Building Strategy Outcome
The north part of the Sentul Depot is selected due to the flexible access which nearer to the KTM station. The location of the propose building also helps to enhance the circulation between the site.
The 3d model created a prototype of the extension of Sentul Depot. Perspective view from the exterior and interior is taken. The idea of extension at this stage is a cantilevered extension that attached to the existing building
PROJECT 3 : ADAPTIVE REUSE OF SENTUL DEPOT
Project 3 : Adaptive Reuse of Sentul Depot Design Intention Intergrade the program from the site while also solve the site issue of lacking public educational facilities by proposing a building with Library and Locomotive Museum. This is to retain the original value of Sentul Depot which is a locomotive workshop in the past but now is a locomotive museum. Both contribute to the locomotive field while the museum aim to improve the future development in locomotive

Project 3 : Adaptive Reuse of Sentul Depot Target User Student
Student are the main targeted user, where the proposed program provide them free space of reading and other educational purpose. The main typology of the design building is to create educational space which highly compatible to the student around Sentul Park.
Active Period
Tourist / Visitor
Tourist / Visitor are the secondary target user, where the location of the design building complemented with public transport, simply allows more people from far to travel to the site. This also stimulate more human activity in the site while increasing the business opportunity for the Sentul community.

Project 3 : Adaptive Reuse of Sentul Depot Material & Texture Sketches on expected outcome
The reason of choosing stone as the main material for the new extension building, because stone masonry able to have similar arrangement compared with brick but having different texture. This also show the respect to the existing building while building something new on it but still following the rules.
Brickwork Glass Panel Providing natural lighting into the building while do not lost the characteristic of the existing building. The uses of the glass panel shows the adaption of the current building into modern architecture.
Project 3 : Adaptive Reuse of Sentul Depot First Approach - Design Process (Sketches) The first approach mainly focusing on the distribution of space, space arrangement and space organization
This sketches show the intervention of green space from the site in to the building. Creating a green avenue in the building as an internal courtyard that allowed multiple events.
The green intervention into the building by set into the ground step by step.
Schematic section that show the expected double volume the the library and the reading space

Project 3 : Adaptive Reuse of Sentul Depot Second Approach - Design Process (Sketches)
Form making sketches
The second approach had applied the ideal from project 1, which is the concept of pixilation that will increase the social distancing between each individual to comply SOP. Where the concept also make contrast between the existing building. The pixilation also act like a virus which spread through the building with it concept of split leveling. After the SOP had announced, face mask must be wearing in the public spaces. Hence, the most possible virus spreading way will be physical contact. The split of level is to avoid physical contact between each user.

Project 3 : Adaptive Reuse of Sentul Depot Perspective Avenue Perspective
Avenue Perspective The Avenue allow users to have recreational activities while also experience the architecture of the extension building. The different material and glass window used created large contrast between the current building and the new extension building. From the perspective, users in the reading area may also enjoy the view of the avenue while reading.
Project 3 : Adaptive Reuse of Sentul Depot Perspective Reading Space Perspective
Reading Space Perspective The split level of the reading space cover different type of the use of library, such as discussion room, individual reading area, bookshelves. All point of reading space provide different experience in terms of volume, view, and environment.
Project 3 : Adaptive Reuse of Sentul Depot Perspective Library Perspective
Library Perspective The arch window and the skylight provide significant amount of natural lighting, which promote the environment of reading space. More natural lighting will make users more expressive instead of depressive.
Project 3 : Adaptive Reuse of Sentul Depot Perspective Outdoor Corridor Perspective
Outdoor Corridor Perspective This perspective allows users to notice the existing building arch wall which build by bricks and the newly added stone arch wall. The only different between both wall in term of design is the material used, which allow user to recognized the old building even after the renovation.
