Basic Setup Switch on by sliding and holding the Power/HOLD switch on the side of the device for a few seconds.
To start recording audio press the REC button A red light will illuminate when you are recording. Point the microphones at the source of sound for a clear recording, preferably in a quiet location.
To stop recording press the RECORD button again.
The amount of time remaning on the device is highlighted on screen

Playback Audio Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to play back the last recorded file
Use the REWIND and FASTFOWARD buttons during playback to select a different file. Keep the button held to fast forward or rewind through a clip.

Next File
Press the RECORD button to exit playback and return to the recording screen.

Accessory Kit The Zoom H1 Audio Recorder comes with an accessory kit containing
• Adjustable Tripod • Windscreen • AC Adapter • USB cable. Adjustable Tripod
Windscreen
The windscreen reduces the impact of wind noise on the final recording.
Screw the top of the tripod into the tripod hole on the back of the device.
Stretch over the end of the end of the device, covering the microphones.
AC Adapter & USB Cable
Then extend the legs and place on a flat surface.
To charge via a plug connect one end of the USB cable into the USB slot on the device. Connect the other end to the AC adapter then put into a mains power outlet.

Transfer Audio Turn the power off then connect the recorder to a PC or MAC using the USB cable. If correctly connected the word ‘CARD’ will appear onscreen.
The device will now appear in MY COMPUTER (PC) or in FINDER (Mac).
Click on the device, then STEREO, then FOLDER. You should be able to now see your recordings.

Drag and drop the files to a secure location on your computer then disconnect the device.
You will be able to play these files on any compatible device and also edit them using Audacity (available on the ILS Computers).
