Draw, think and make outside and consider how sculpture changes the space around us. Create family memories this summer on a stroll through our beautiful landscape. TO BREATHE: SCULPTURES IN THE SKY 14 JUL / 11.00–16.00 / FREE Join us to create a collaborative outdoor artwork inspired by Kimsooja’s To Breathe. Create an everexpanding installation of shimmering rainbows which frame the landscape. Immerse yourself within the installation and marvel at a spectacle of bubbles which float, dance and disappear creating rainbow sculptures in the sky.

Talks & Tours FAMILY WORKSHOP: PATTERNS AND PRINTS WITH ELLA DORAN 27–28 JUL (TWO-DAY WORKSHOP) 11.00–16.00 / £40 (AGES 8+) Design and create your own lino print, taking inspiration from Ella Doran’s exhibition Sheep to Seat, Fleece to Floor. This is a great opportunity to achieve your Arts Award Explore while making art together. FAMILY SCULPTURE WORKSHOP: HOMES AND PLACE 10 AUG / 11.00–16.00 / FREE (AIMED AT ALL AGES) Visit the Bothy Gallery to construct your own sculptures and drawings about home, inspired by Richard Woods' house drawings popping up in the landscape. SCULPTING SOUNDS 20 AUG / 11.00–16.00 £20 (AGES 8+) Inspired by Tarek Atoui, this is a unique opportunity to work with composer Elizabeth Dobson, layering soundscapes together to create your own sound sculpture. Young people will achieve their Discover Arts Award as part of the workshop. Shonibare will share his thoughts with Beth Hughes, Curator of the Arts Council Collection. DIVERSITY WITHIN THE ARTS: INCLUSION AND INTERSECTIONALITY 17 MAY / 10.00–16.30 / £20 Bringing people together to consider the theoretical and practical settings for arts education, this event highlights the importance of using research as a base for thinking and practice in visual arts study. FARMING STORIES FROM ACROSS THE GLOBE 1 AUG / 18.00–20.15 / FREE Inspired by Bread, Circuses and TBD by Thukral and Tagra, and working with the National Farmers' Union (NFU), join this timely event to examine issues that affect farmers nationally and internationally today. RICHARD WOODS: ESTATE 10 AUG / 10.00–17.00 / FREE Drop in to see artist Richard Woods create his new land art intervention Estate (2019), a 100m line drawing created using rolled black fabric placed across the landscape. Learn a range of techniques including welding and plasma cutting, and using shaping equipment and a forge.

STITCHED QUILTING WORKSHOP WITH ABIGAIL BOOTH 3 AUG / 10.00–16.00 / £85 Join Abigail Booth of Forest + Found for an introduction to the beautiful art of hand-stitched quilting and learn the traditional methods based around Booth’s practice. WOOD CARVING COURSE 7–11 AUGUST (FIVE-DAY COURSE) 10.00–16.00 / £340 Guided by expert wood carver Arthur De Mowbray, journey through the various techniques of carving wood to make a unique sculptural carving.

STONE CARVING SCULPTURE COURSE 3–7 JUL (FIVE-DAY COURSE) 10.00–16.00 / £340 Skilled stonemason, Marcia Bennett-Male, will show you stone carving techniques with plenty of time to develop your skills and create your own stone sculpture.

STONE CARVING EXTENDED PRACTICE 4–8 SEP (FIVE-DAY COURSE) 10.00–16.00 / £405 Develop and refine your stone carving skills with stonemason, Marcia Bennett-Male, using Indian Serpentine stone. Suited to those with experience of using stone who wish to extend their practice.

RELIEF WOOD CARVING COURSE 20–21 JULY (TWO-DAY COURSE) 10.00–16.00 / £165 Join sculptor Tim Norris for a practical introduction to woodworking. Discover the techniques and tools required to carve a relief sculpture out of wood.

COLLAGE AND PAINTING WORKSHOP WITH ELLA DORAN 7 SEP / 10.00–16.00 / £85 Led by artist Ella Doran, produce your own imaginary garden or interior-scape in collage and painting, inspired by the artist's work.

STONE LETTER CARVING 26–28 JUL (THREE-DAY COURSE) 10.00–16.00 / £245 Participants will learn the techniques of carving stone to make lettering, led by Marcia BennettMale, in the open air. WOODEN BEAD JEWELLERY WORKSHOP WITH JANE SEDGWICK 27 JUL / 10.00–16.00 / £85 Led by jeweller, Jane Sedgewick, explore techniques for colouring, decorating and texturing turned wooden beads through carving, filing and stamping.

EXPLORING THE HERBAL GARDEN 12 JUL 2019 / 10.00–11.30 YSP MEMBERS £12, GUESTS £15 Join YSP Head Gardener, Terry Lee, for an exclusive practical introduction to identifying and growing herbs from seed and cuttings. Learn about the rich array of herbs grown and used at YSP, and try your hand at propagation techniques, taking away the fruits of your labour. Along with a guided tour of the Formal Garden, tea and cake will provided as part of the morning.
