We welcome anyone who enjoys a good sing-song, even if you can’t hold a tune. This is about fun for the adults. Our Arts Award Family Studio gives you a free space to think and create, and a base to explore our current Arts Council Collection National Partner exhibitions. SHAPE AND COLOUR OF LIGHT: FAMILY DROP-IN 25 OCT / 11.00–12.30 & 13.00–16.00 FREE (AIMED AT ALL AGES) Discover how artists have used light, colour and shape in the Occasional Geometries exhibition. Explore the sculptures, paintings and drawings with your family through fun and creative activities in this drop-in workshop. LITTLE EXPLORERS 26 OCT / 10.30–12.00 & 13.00–14.30 / £3 (AIMED AT UNDER 5S) Adventure awaits in YSP’s Hidden Forest, our dedicated space for under 5s. November FAMILY CERAMIC DAY 4 NOV / 11.00–14.00 / £10 (AIMED AT AGE 6+) Craft your own clay creations as a family, taking inspiration from a walk and make session in the Park. Embellish your red earthenware pot with texture and pattern, and finish with slips to create colour. FESTIVE TREE DECORATION MAKING 26 NOV / 11.00–13.00 & 14.00–16.00 / £5 (AIMED AT ALL AGES) Create festive decorations in time for the beginning of Advent. Taking inspiration from Ai Weiwei’s Circle of Animals / Zodiac Heads (2010), come and make seasonal decorations, inspired by Chinese culture, to hang on your tree. All materials are provided. February ZODIAC BOOKS 21 FEBRUARY / 11.00–13.00 & 14.00–16.00 £3 (AIMED AT ALL AGES) Taking inspiration from Circle of Animals / Zodiac Heads (2010) by Ai Weiwei and a Chinese story, we will be creating our own fold-out book of new characters and interpretations.

ED KLUZ IN CONVERSATION 10 FEB / 13.30–14.30 / £10 Join artist Ed Kluz in conversation with British architectural historian, author and broadcaster Olivia Horsfall Turner as they discuss their new book, The Lost House Revisited, published by Merrell in September 2017, followed by a book signing.
February PAPER COLLAGE WORKSHOP WITH ED KLUZ 24 & 25 FEB (TWO-DAY WORKSHOP) 10.00–16.00 / £210, YSP MEMBERS £205 Join Kluz for a two-day workshop to design and create your own collages. You will discover how to make your own coloured and textured paper, and explore abstract and figurative ways of using paper collage.
