HYMNS OF YOU
A minister takes a year leave of absence from the church to deal with his divorce. With the help of three long-time friends he begins to get into more trouble. As he finds new romance and converses with the 'ghost' of Walt Whitman, he finds himself on a collision course between his faith and the church. This is a film about relationships and acceptance. The four guys in the movie are all dealing with various relationship and life passage issues.

Represented by The Charlotte Gusay Literary Agency, Los Angeles, CA. Phil Davis is a writer, published author, and a multimedia director/producer. Phil has been writing screenplays since 1995. His screenplay What Angels Know was optioned in 1998. Phil's first book, The Father I Never Knew, a non-fiction work, was published in 1991. It has since been published in Chinese and Spanish editions. Phil works as a Multimedia Production Manager, at Space Imaging, Orlando, FL, where he writes scripts, shoots video, and is the postproduction editor. His work includes the development of corporate videos and interactive multimedia CD-ROMs The story at the core of this movie rose out of events that occurred in a critical year of Phil's life as he transitioned from leaving the local church ministry (after 12 years) to a new career. The movie draws upon many of the things that happened to him during that year of leaving. Many circumstances/characters were modified, but the heart of the journey is his own journey to a more open faith.
Stephanie Liskey has been a creative artist her whole life. She is currently an Art Director in Orlando, FL, where she writes scripts, shoots and edits video, designs web and CD-ROM content and oversees other artists. She has always supported herself through some form of art, including portraiture, illustration, fine art and multimedia. She made short 16 mm films in school and developed a strong appreciation of film history. For several years she has been collecting video for a documentary of a 90-year-old poet she befriended, and she expects to edit that footage this coming year. Hymns of You is her first feature length script and film. She was intrigued with Phil's idea of a script about a minister's spiritual search leaving the church, and felt inspired to work on it with him. She did not realize when she volunteered to help on the project years ago that she would end up co-creating the project. Modern spiritual struggles have been an area of special interest for her.
