Who Wants to Cook?
THERE ARE LOTS OF THINGS you’d rather be doingthan standing over a stove during your RV vacation. Here are a few tips to make that necessary evil a little more bearable:
FREEZE, FREEZE, FREEZE!
1. Before you even leave home, brown hamburger, slices of chicken and strips of pork or bacon. Store in freezer bags or containers for on-the-road spaghetti, stir fry, chicken ala king, and other favorite meals that will be a snap to prepare. 2. Many easy recipes freeze well. Mix up a batch of burritos and roll them in plastic wrap; cook up a kettle of chili and store in individual serving size containers.
3. Vegetables are no exception. Chop up onions or bell peppers and freeze them in plastic bags. Press them flat so you can easily chop off what you need later. 4. Wine (yes, wine) freezes nicely for sautéing. Pour into ice cube trays and pop out for cooking.
