Under A Diamond Design of a wholesale flower market Individual | Academic Duration: May-July, 2022
Under the impact of the virtual economy and even the epidemic, the traditional face-to-face communication market is facing a major crisis. The flower market, as a kind of traditional market, is also being hit hard. The traditional seasonal flower market has been replaced by an all-weather wholesale flower market. According to the planning requirements of the municipal government, we are rebuilding the original flower market in an abandoned factory area near Qiqiao Wetland Park. By implanting a suspension with variable functions, we modularize the traditional business space and freely combine it with different trading spaces to form a market that adapts to citizens' needs.

Vigorous Canyon Design of a Commercial District, Liyang Group work | Internship Project Contribution: Facade design, Plan Drawings, Illustrations Duration: July-October , 2022
The project site is located in the Shengkangyuan District of Liyang, with convenient transportation. It is adjacent to Tianmu Lake Avenue and can be seamlessly connected to the main city. It is adjacent to Chating Road to the south and is convenient for travel. The concept of this project derives from Canyon, which is a natural form that features variabilty and flexibility. We hope this commercial district can meet people's needs and contributes to the community well-being.

Upenn MSD-aad Studio Location: New York Stock Exchange From September, 2023 to December, 2023 Team with Yuhan Gao Instructor: Olivia Vien
Inspired by the seamless transition of HongKong's internal urbanism, the design combines facades and spatial organization to encourage visual and functional flow between the interior of the building and the streets of New York. The central reserved atrium is designed to allow for the integration of spaces in different directions through the connection of transportation spaces. Spatial continuity is achieved by transparent elements, public diagonal spaces within the building, or public spaces that extend vertically within the building. In order to be non-regimented, the design will include organic, adaptable elements that can evolve over time. This may be reflected in modular office spaces, reconfigurable common areas, or facades that change based on market dynamics or other data streams.
The Future of NYSE New York is one of the leading financial centers in the world, and is a phenomenal building that embodies the develop ment of finance, society and city evolution. From the foundation of the NYSE in 1972, when people talked and took notes on the floor in the hall, to today when people stand in front of computer monitors, electronic readouts and many digital trades take place. These burgeoningmachines have greally inluenced ond chsnged the way of people's behavior and the layout of architectural space.

Weaving & Iterations Two precedents are took for conbination--Blue Cross by Paul Ruldoph and Blossom Tower by Shin Takamatsu. These precedents have different features that is difficult to integrate. Therefore, a method of weaving and overlapping is applied to generate special Affects that creates relationships between Man and Machine.

Uneri — うねり Design of a timber construction natatorium Individual | Academic Duration: Mar-June, 2023
Uneri is a Japanese word describing wind-blown waves. The project is positioned as a comprehensive natatorium for internal use by the university faculty, staff and students, primarily as a place for daily sports activities, training for varsity teams, and as a venue for small and mediumsized swimming competitions. The wave concept is mainly reflected by the overall shape of the building and the roof, and the large span wood frame is selected to realize the structural space change.

On the northeast side of the project site are large sports fields, including softball fields, soccer fields and basketball courts. There are student apartments on the northwest side of the project site, and the engineering training center for college students on the south side. The roads to the east and west of the project site are adjacent to the main road of the campus, and in the section where the school bus passes, which is convenient for transportation.
Since there is a 5m elevation difference in the site, the building is partially buried underground to reduce the amount of earthwork. The building functions are divided into three main parts: 1. the swimming pool area, 2. the staff and equipment area, and 3. the integrated training area. The swimming pool area is the centerpiece, linking the other two functional areas.

Design of a timber observation tower Group Work | Academic Team: Shanchuang Gu, Feiyi Zhao, Xiyi Zhang (total 4) Contribution: Concept, Modeling80%, Drawings100% Duration: September-October, 2022
The proposed observation tower is located in the bird watching base of Shanghai Xinjiangwan Wetland Park. The west side faces the confluence of the rivers where the surrounding vegetation is dense. It is an excellent place for people to watch birds and take pictures. The viewing platform is located close to the water surface, and the main structure is mainly made of timber, supplemented by some steel components as supporting members.

The proposed observation tower sits on a square base with an area of 12m by 12m. The shape of the observation tower is derived from the geometric carp, and the main structure is made of timber. The stairs between the two cylinders and the viewing platform are staggered and connected, and the spiral rises.
Axonometric
The uppermost part of the building is a large viewing platform, with a hollowed-out skin, In addition, there is a rest space enclosed by translucent film material at the bottom of the observation tower. Moreover, a barrierfree lift is also set up around the inner cylinder, which is convenient for the disabled.

The Structure The building structure is composed of inner and outer cylinders, which are uniformly stressed and form a cylinder-in-cylinder structural system. The top of the inner tube is straight up to provide lighting, the outer tube is embedded with a transparent membrane, and the inner tube
column is used as the inner side beam of the stair, and also serves as a barrier-free escalator support member; the outer tube shape is twisted to adapt to the wind load; the components use planted bars-parametric assembled bolt joints, which are economical and reliable.
The Details The inner and outer cylinders are in the form of truss cylinders, which have good lateral and torsional rigidity. The steel-wood composite board connects the double cylinders and realizes the function of vertical passage. The outer cylinder adopts a GLT wooden pole with a section size of 400*200mm, and the inner cylinder adopts a GLT wooden pole with a section size of 200*200mm. All joints are assembled bolt joints, which can be adapted to different rod orientations by adjusting the angle of the lugs. The floor slab adopts CLT-steel coupling beam platform plate. Similarly, the stair section also adopts CLT-steel coupling beam stair section slab.

Design of a College Students Center Individual Work | Academic Duration: March-April, 2020
College students are a special group that symbolizes vitality, curiosity and innovation. However, many college have little resistance to various tempations. Besides, the existing library could not satisfy so many increasing college students. Therefore, students in Nanjing Forestry University long for a new students center that could provide ample study spaces and event spaces, where they can communicate with each other and share ideas. As a result, I hope to design a student center that provides different dynamic spaces with its unique arrangement splitting by right triangle notch. The students center has tripple functions— study center, acticity center and students service center, which could cover all students' needs.

The first floor is mainly devided into 3 functional area- gym, office and great atrium. Students enter the building from southern and eastern entrance, while staff entrance is on the north side, which can split crowd stream efficiently. The second floor mainly consists of open and quiet study space, where every student can find a seat or discuss with teamates. A mezzanine on the south side devide vertical space into a open library and a large study room. The third floor provides exhibition, Internet bar and event space.
