STREET CORNER OF HISTORY Because the pattern of reads is complicated, there are many different types of corners in various angles and shapes. The traffic lights in the area are more than other parts in the city. When waiting for the traffic light, tourists can see different buildings on the corners of the streets. These buildings were built in various ages and have different forms according to the corners. This is a characteristic of Hongkou Harbor. A tour guide on scenes of corners is needed for tourists interested in history of streets and buildings. There is an area of vacant land on the site. The program need a tour center for people to have a grand view of the district and get maps and guides which can lead them to the corners they want to go.

INFRASTRUCTURE OF FLOOD CONTROL Flood control is a complex infrastructure and composed with zones and levels. Greenland, buildings, a cruise terminal underground, a dock constitute the whole infrastructure. Before the design, a site survey and mapping is necessary. The site is separated into five part in masterplan. A composite mapping show that the infrastructure are divided into six zones and two flows of movement runs through the infrastructure.

A platform is lifted beyond the fence. People on the green land can go on the platform to get near to the river. The view of the river and the opposite urban is not blocked by the fence.
When ship stops by the dock, the platform will be lifted and rotated. It changes into a pavilion for people on the green land to stay in. The work on the dock is not disturbed by the people on the green land.

A half of the cruise terminal underground is changed into a commercial space where there is a market, a restaurant, a cafe, a ticket office, and a soccer bar. An entrance is created on the green land for people to go down to the underground space and go up on the green land.
Before boarding the ships, tourists go through security check and custom in underground space. The built environment lacks sunlight. The design let people enjoy the sunlight and the landscape on the ground when they are checked.
