Set out: Excavation

Excavate the site in order to start the construction of basement. Excavate at 45 degree in order the maintain at the same level as neighboring property.

Scaffoldings are placed in site and prepare for ground floor structure, concrete slab’s pouring 390mm x190mm masonry blockwork is used and reinforced with steel

Timber framing is used as the structure of ground floor level, plywood is applied in progress to strengthen the structure

To connect stud with concrete stud, chemset is a strong polyester adhesive which is able to anchor threaded studs into concrete in order to strengthen the attachment of stud and concrete slab

First Storey floor framing structure

Open web floor truss is the system used to formulate the first storey floor framing structure. Steel beam is used to strengthen the system.

Internal wall

The construction of ceiling started, it is connected with floor and roof structural system. From images, they show how plasterboards have been placed.

Stage 11

Finishing: Fireplace

The detail shows the connection of fireplace and how it link to the first floor

Construction has reached the finishing stage which glass has been attached and door has started the installation. Fireplace construction is in process.

Stage 12

Finishing and landscape

All built-in furnitures are installed and internal flooring: carpet is used in first floor. Landscape work is done and site cleaning work is done before contacting the client.

script In stage one, the main construction activity is excavation Before we begin any construction activity, site preparation is essential, after site clearing and soil testing. Excavation begins, we are going to excavate at 45 degree in order to enable the construction of the basement and most importantly to maintain the same level as the neighboring properties.

In stage seven, roof system will be built After the completion of first floor structure, it now comes to the roof system, steel roof beam and timber rafters are the two main materials that built up the roof. As the external wall is with timber cladding so flashing will be applied on the external timber column, it is for waterproof purpose to avoid water leakage.

Stage two is the construction of basement After excavation, the next step is the foundation system. Strip footings are installed into ground in order to support the whole building. Basement footings are reinforced with steel. The floor throughout the basement is concrete slab which the formation is in-situ concrete poured over reinforcement, after these two steps are done then concrete bricks with steel reinforcement will be used to build up walls to support the ground floor.

Stage eight, it is about roof cover Roof structure is not completed until roof cover is attached on top of the rafters. Box gutters are also installed and it connected with downpipe. All fashings are added into structure so waterproofing roof system is then completed. Window frames that brought into site is ready to attach to the timber framework

Stage three is about the ground floor concrete slab formation After the completion of basement construction including footings and masonry basement wall, it’s time for preparation of ground floor concrete slab. Same as basement, concrete slab will be used as the flooring system. Scaffolding are placed for supporting the formation of concrete slab. Concrete slab is prepared in site which workers will pour concrete from concrete mixer into steel reinforcement.

Moving on to stage four, it is about ground floor framing system After finishing the basement and ground floor concrete slab, ground floor wall structure will be started. Timber frameworks with steel beam will be the structure of the ground floor. Using timber framing system is better for load distribution which allows load transferring to the ground efficiently. Plywood is added into structure in order to strengthen the support for the upper floor.

In stage five, it comes to the first level floor structure.

Finishing the ground floor timber framework, we can now start building up the upper floor flooring system. Different kinds of floor system is used, unlike the ground floor’s concrete slab.

Timber is the main material used for the flooring system. Open web floor truss is the system used for the first floor. LVL beam is used for the construction as well, to strengthen the support of the first floor.

Stage Six comes to the wall structure of the first floor After we finish the flooring system, we move on to the structure of first floor. The same timber framing floor system is used in first floor. Timber is used and plywood will be applied to make the structure stronger. For the external wall of the building, timber are cut in order fit into the designed shape of the building.

In stage nine, it will complete all door and window system.

After roof system is done then workers will hide all pipework. Pipework are then stored in the ceiling spaces. Door and window systems are waiting to be installed. Aluminum window frames are used throughout the whole building.

Stage ten is about the internal wall Internal wall is now installing after the all window frame and door frame are installed. Plasterboards are prepared to attach on the wall and ceiling. Service are set up, workers is working on with fireplace system. The building is now heading to the finishing stage.

Stage 11 Fireplace is still in construction process. It made of hebel blocks and will be finished with masonry.

Timber flooring and carpet are ready on site for later use to finish the construction. Plasterboards are painted. All joineries are fixed such as the glass and sliding door.

Stage 12 is the finish stage All built-in furniture are finished and installed. They are put into corresponding place. At last, carpet is put on the floor of living room and bedroom. Landscape work is done and we can see that it is surrounding the building. After cleaning up site is completed then the house is finished.
