This photomontage potrays the social disparity of the site with symbolisms of neglect accompanied by social hierachy. Monotonous colour potrays the dullness of life and the difference in scale of the modern skyscrappers and shophouses represents the state of architecture within the site.

CONCLUSION: Eat unites the 4 main user groups and houses them in a common place.
CONCLUSION: Interaction within the building is minimal as compared to the interaction out of the building (semi-public/public spaces), which is more profound.

Section A-A shows the experiential journey catered for tourist user groups as it introduces them to the vibrant surroundings of the local marketplace. Thus proceeding to educate them about the local culinary culture via the workshops, then ending the tour with a tourist hub and inn.
Section B-B shows the view of the common link bridge that connects all 3 blocks towards the common eating space where users from all walks of life come together and dine.
Section C-C shows arrangement of spaces catered for the white/blue collar user groups which features convenient and accessible amenities such as food kiosks, marketplaces, maker’s studio etc. Notable spaces such as maker’s studio, soup kitchen and education hub creates opportunity to interact with other user groups by educating and sharing life skills and knowledge.

Solid form as the resemblence as the form of a tin ingot without flaws and dents, picturing the blooming tin mining era of Sungai Lembing.
Cracked marks on surface resembles economic recession of the tin mining industry causing the community to crumble.
Cracked marks sinks deeper and slices the ingot into fragments. This resembles the long term economic and development effect of the recession to the community.
Proposed visitor intrepretive centre to tell the tales of the past and acts as a bandage to heal the recessed community. PHOTOMONTAGE, capturing the essence of Sungai Lembing’s tin mining cave and industry.

Proposed urban infill aims to improve the literacy and engage the community by cultivating the market culture in conjunction with the adjacent Petaling Street Flea Market. This hybird community library aims to imitate the originality of the flea market, primarily its diversity, uniqueness and essence.
Punctured ground level allows circulation through the market spaces on ground floor, smooth transition to/from petaling street.
Pockets of voids designed to allow in-between floor interaction and to immiate the sense of opening and view the sky as the original flea market.
Recessed frontage to allow reading activities to be visible to from the exterior, stimulating interest of passerby.
Vibrant front facade immitates diverse market stall umbrella shadings . Permeable rear facade allows user to enjoy the serene view
