Program
This project focused on creating a single family home located in San Diego by using sustainability, biophilia and biomimicry.
Concept
The canyons in San Diego gives parts of the city a segmented feel, creating gaps between otherwise proximate neighborhoods and contributing to a low-density, Car-centered environment. Taking from the geography the concept developed into expansion & Contraction and the goal to blur the line between the inside and out.

Final Design
We created the shift within the original plan and created a “space in between” that supports the function of the other two space and also to bring in nature. For example, We shifted the kitchen area in order to create an outdoor dining area that is also integrated with the vegetation & herbal garden. This can both support the kitchen and the indoor dining area. Not only in plan but also we played with the height of the ceiling to create the expansion and contraction within the space.

Program
This project focused on creating a temporary disaster shelter.
Final Design
“How can one feel like the identical temporary shelter are the users own property?” My design approach gives the users flexibility to transform one’s compact space. Not being constricted with one area, altering the shelter in the most minimal way. Identifying the two most basic zones, either completely private, completely public or half and half, the user is given a choice to make each shelter their own.

In every relationship, communication is key. Whether one is smiling, frowning, or crying, facial expression can mask true feelings within. This mask functions as a guessing game where people outside the mask is to guess what the subject is thinking; pass the mask, pass the facial expression. * Paper mâché, with Wire, Trace paper, Acrylic
