Original Structure
The main atmosphere of the design is domestic feeling. What we are trying to do is to bring the domestic feeling into the work environment which set people at ease. To achieve the goal, the material is mainly white walls and celling , wood furniture and soft fabric . The color glass to make the space more vivid . One important aspect of design is to encourage communication. The design language is to communicate the idea of connection and attention. To make the space more fluence, we use the frame or the glass to sperate spaces rather than the concrete wall. The frame , the start point of the design, separates the spaces but keeps connection in the two side. It direct people’s attention and encourages the communication between two parts but keep a kind of privacy in the same time. And it also creates multiple layer spaces and makes a deeper and space. It also lead people’s attention to the fantastic view outside the window. To the aspect of function, the dinning area is the main place to get-together. The round table encourage people to chat. It’s like a big bar and people can have a drink after work there. And the coffee bar is more like a informal chatting area. When people meet there when they have a cup of coffee ,they can just have a little talk. Also a drawing board is set to the design apartment so they can share ideas and thinking on it and discuss them with others. Photo is more about sharing life and create memory connection between stuff.

Framing the view, that was the first thought jumped into our mind. One of the greatest things in the office is fantastic view of Thames River and the city, we borrow it. The combination of the white simple frame and the view gives a good visual effect. When applied into the space, the frame is more than the view used in the office. The frame separates the space and the same time keeps the connection. It directs people’s attention and encourages the communication between two parts but in the same time separate two spaces. It also creates multiple level spaces and gives the space interesting changes. When people are working and want to concentrate on your own work, frames become the boundary and separate you from other parts.

For creating more playful spaces, the staircase is introduced into the design and combined with the frame as well as the furniture. Staircases create a dynamic route connecting rooms and spaces in a sequence. The sequence and changes tells stories. It makes the daily working spaces more interesting and encourage people to imagine the new and playful way to work --- Walking on the table, climbing up to the ceiling, getting across the wall, dreaming in the air and reading on the grass. That gives people the feeling that all things could happen here and provides a friendlier environment for the creative thinking.

Together with the two elements, the form of the design is sculpture-like interlocking frame. Small areas could be seen as separate parts and the independent engines to drive interesting events. For example, in the performance and meeting area, the level changes provide the stages for the performance and people can climb to little spaces or just lying on the sofa. There are varies ways to get interaction with other people and people can choose their own.

Instead of constrain the exhibition in a small area, we are thinking about how to give the whole space a gallery feeling by displaying art works everywhere in the whole office. That makes the office more open. Interlocking frame themselves get sculpture-like quality and could be seen as art work by themselves. But since we follow on the minimalism with white walls and open spaces, they return back to the simple and pure background to support the exhibition and display. It gets the possibility to transfer the whole space to gallery environment. For the projecting area, since there is large area in the middle, and a lot of white walls in the middle, we are thinking about projecting through the frame and make the best use of the wall in the middle.

Using frame element design, the working area of the design apartment has a very nice transparent space, easy communication and make a distinction between the working space and the corridor. The stairs are beside the frame and give people an impression that they can go up. The art works are distributed everywhere in the space.

The main atmosphere of the design is domestic feeling. The main goal is to bring the domestic feeling into the work environment and set people at ease. To achieve the goal, the material is mainly white walls and celling , wood furniture and soft fabric. The color glass to make the space more vivid and give a balance to the relax and soft background. It is a space not only for work but also for life.Have a cup of coffee, enjoy the sunshine, sharing memories and forget the limitation. Talking with people, having dinner with each other, held concert, see museums reading and discussion. The whole company is like a big loft. In there people not only corporate in work, but also sharing their happy and spending time together. In the same time of encouraging communication, privacy is also respected. We admit that people sometimes need time and space to be along, to read and reflect by themself rather than keep connecting with people all the time. In that consideration we set meditation space and reading space in the corner which is for private time. Heathy is also into the consideration. We put the gem space and also set stand working area for stuff’ s health. They could stand to work to keep fit. To make the space more playful and dynamic, flexibility is considered as an important part. One Object usually have several different functions. The wall, separate the space, but the same time could be a storage, a shelf, or something else. And the gallery could be a place to held a concert or party. The table getting through the frame and change to be a shelf. The staircase connected to the frame encourage people to inhabit the space in different way and give the space more fun.
