After photographing the 1plan view and Module elevation and scanning the asections of How to draw croissant? the croissant, I use chasing paper to draw it accurately. The techniques for drawing are hatching and shading, while using the correct and suitable pencils. More importantly, elevation photos should not contains the shadows, moreover, every little lines in hatching should be clear and

EXPLORING SPACE The new Mario world finished by Illustrator has combined two elevations while exploring much invisible space that can not been observed in two elevations. For example, the underground waterflows, the geometrical and ziggurat shapes on mountains and the inner space within the brick structure. While making new and interesting shapes and space, the general theme is kept by picking the original color in the two images.

DESIGN ON SURFACE
After automatically been panelized by the computer, the surface was re-designed by me through individually replacing the 100 small forms. In order to create a fluid movements and multiple focal points in this surface, I decided to create 7 different forms that looks like they are gradually growing up, which gives the overall feelings with a organic movements. Moreover, I place three highest points in three edges which brings much more interests.

CITIES & THE SKY 3: EUSAPIA Yupeng GAO 978292
INTERPRETATION THROUGH PROJECTION
The city of Eusapia comprises tow parts. One was above the ground while the other was built underground. According to the narratives, mostly the dead lived underground and the people alive were living above. Moreover, two parts of the city had merged together in a way, which was hard to recognize the differences. Therefore, I regard the old quad as a transfer station between the two different parts, so I divide it into two parts, where the upper, at top right, owns one third and underground one owns two thirs. More importantly, the gravity of the underground world is in an opposite way, hich makes it upside down,

PERSPECTIVE 1
In perspective one, the “transfer station” (entrance) between the living and the dead is shown. Therefore, I have chosen two groups of people who are carrying corpses, entering the dead world through the vague and bright “blackhole”, in order to flee from the reality and lead an enjoyable life. There are also two hooded brother with shiny eyes and glowing outline, which indicates their unusual status. In the background, the exterior, where the upper city located, is depicted with darkness, sadness and loneliness, which shows the imitation and the over-emphasized illusion of dead world in a narrative way.

PERSPECTIVE 2 Perspective two mainly depicts the central life of the underground city. On the bottom right, a corpse just woke up to become an undead while a group of undead and human were having fun, drinking and singing together harmoniously and peacefully. On the left-hand side, a clock shop was located where broken clocks were on sale. All the figures that were undead were becoming more and more like skeleton, which might be turning them into one eventually.
eflection In this course, a great amount of technical skills were leant, such as Photoshops, InDesign and more importantly the Rhino 5, which is completely new to me. Moreover, in terms of the theories, from the process of making modules and learning form lecture and my tutor, I noticed that what I thought about is totally wrong in relation to the perception towards the idea of simplism or being simple and clean in design. Before I thought, in modern design, being simple is significant and it looks cool in many respects, so I tried hard to remove the elements in my design in order to keep it “clean” or “simple”. However, this is not correct, from the learning from making models, I have noticed that keeping clean is not just eliminating everything, but it is using clean and suitable design language to convey the sufficient information to the viewers. What I did before is just boring and nothing else. Instead, overdecoration has to be avoid. Design should be interesting and can be simple at the same time, which can be achieved by spatial arrangement, like leaving negative space or balancing the words and images. This is the key learning for me in this semester. In addition, Module 1 is not satisfying for me because I made the mistakes I have mentioned above, I should have change into a more visual interesting layout rather than being the same as everyone else. Keep putting efforts and I think I will make big progress after this year.
