"Landscape as a metaphor"
Landscape starts from agriculture. A place satisfies human's requirements as it used to be. However, is the landscape nothing more than a shell supporting living without meaning? It is ironic that we use it but deny to confess the meaning of itself by defining it appearence. Accordingly, here I try to seek for the identity of land to reconnect the bounding between human and land.

Sugar Industry Art Triennial
The first research of the Madou is to figure out the curren situstion of the historical structure . As the analysis lots of historical structures are lost. However,the modern art works appear in this time.So the next step is to find out that what elements can I usa to respond the history and modern.
The experience of walking is kinetic. It contains time and perception. So uses it to mark and collect the first expeience . This map also reflects the current use of this place.
As the analysis,the Madou Sugar Refinery used to be the economic vitals in this place. So it can be a chance for us to try how to reflect the current situation of the historic sites.
Madou used to output the sucrose. Sucrose was the economic vitals here.However, the pummelo replaces canes. Owning to this, the idea is to make people to image the day before
Sound is an abstract texture for it invisible. Nevertheless,it can prescribe landscape from an indirect way. Moreover,by the property of the sound,I take it as an advantage to blur the boundary of the time.
The Trace"
In the final step of studying the site,founding, I extracte parts of the elements in the surrounding of TsungYeh.By mingle them together,make it become the new appearence of this place. And this appearence is dominated by the system of the suger refinery and the current situation of this place.This step is not only to blur relationship between the primary and secondary ,but to elaborate the connection between history and modern.
choose the rammed earth wall as the material of the building. Not only for its locality, but for the attributes of the rammed earth wall. It is suitable for the weather in Madou.
The project is a chane to figure out the meaning of the place and the place attachment.
However,the meaning of the space is dynamic In this project try to balance the significance of the history in this place. For me,history is a way to make me ponder the future of the space.
Undoubtedly, the meaning of history will change by next generation.

The project located at Taichung Xinshe. Owing to the orogenic movement, river terrace becomes the topography of this place. Due to its geographical location,nearby Dajiaxi, this place conceives lots of nature resources.The proposal of this project is to make a discussion abouut the elderly care in morden society. We seek a system design to combine the nature resources and the community-oriented design to creat a brand new lifstyle in the sunset of these elder.
In morden society,elderly care has became the point of the policy. However,there are still some problems in the system of long-term care institution. It contains that the institution is short of caregivers Also, the psychological condition is the other problem in these decades.And in this project is going to focus on two theories,Conflict Theory and Role Theory As the target in these theories, we try to use community-oriented design to satisfy the mental requirement and compensate the lack of caregivers.

We consider the interior view of the building and make the colsed space become the view point in order to create a indirect space. 1

First,as the function of the building and the traffic flow,we classify the attributes of the space,closed and opening.
Make opening space as the center, combine with the traffic flow and the function of the severe area. The opening space shift to north area. 1. Entrance 2. Platform 3. Meadow 4. Family Meeting Area 5. Art Corridor 6. Cypress Forest 7. Orchard 8. Rain garden 9. Parking Lot
Combine the traffic flow of the severe area with the caretakers requirement we divided the closed space.
We make trees as the wall , we depart and reconnect the space as the users and the attributes of the building.

The space texture is one of the factors to create atmosphere in the space .In addition to the construction materials in the space, the texture of the plants is a decisive point in the outdoor space. In this project we try to use this key to intensify the atmosphere in the space. And the texture of the space bases on the function of the space defined by users.
In this project, except for the construction of the space, the cycle of the action system is critical. Space not only support for the present feeling of the user, but a long- tern effect. Satasify the psychol requirement of the user to build a identify in this area.
