It would seem that most of us only stay motivated for no more than a few days at a time, even if we have a great inspiring moment. We have goals we want to reach and achieve but somehow, like out of nowhere, life gets in the way of our progress. So why is it so hard to stay motivated?

It happens to so many of us throughout our lifetime. However, staying motivated is essential to reaching any of our goals. The truth is that we have only heard what motivated us and there is a huge difference between hearing and applying it.

And why NOTHING has changed in our life?

Well, simply put, it is because of your habits.

Yes, your habits! Your intentions might be good and you are working hard to achieve them but the major reason it is hard to stay motivated and change is because of your habits. We all have some habits that block us from staying motivated and keep moving on.

When you hear or feel something that motivates you, you suddenly feel all pumped up by means of an adrenaline rush. At that point, you are in a state of euphoria, and you feel like you could take on the world but then, after a few days, this adrenaline rush begins wearing out, and suddenly you do also.

What just happened?

Your Current Habits Are in the Way On an unconscious level, you didn’t even realize that your curent habits just took control over again and brought you back in the safety zone, in the only place where they feel comfortable.

You see, it is easy to know what to do but it is harder to do what you know.

So the motivational rush you have felt for a few days didn’t come from one of your habits but only from hearing a great message. It didn’t seek in. Do you follow so far?

And like it is not a habit, you just go back to your normal way of being and doing things. To stay motivated, you need to act on this motivational message every day, day in and day out until it becomes a second nature.

All of your habits are parts of a toolbox in your unconscious mind and some have to be changed in order to successfully be or stay motivated. If there is counter production in the toolbox, it is simply impossible to keep your motivation level up.

Changing habits take time, and just like success, it doesn’t happen overnight. You need to decide to change, discipline and push yourself day after day until what you want becomes a habit imprinted in your unconscious.

Without this, you are wearing out after a few days of motivation!

You Need to Create New Habits To make this change, you need to do what is necessary in your inner core. It won’t be easy but with discipline and persistence you can do it.

You are conditioned from your past experiences and the people in your life. So the only way is to do this is by deleting some of the curent programs, and retrain or reprogram yourself.

The first step is critical because you must focus on doing and create new habits. You need to stay on course each day; 7 days a week or you will not create the habit. It will be hard at first, but push to do what needs to be done and keep focusing.

Instead of looking at the fruits, begin to look at the tree, and more importantly at the roots, at your inner core or inner self, as the changes begin there.

What you cannot see in this world is far more powerful than anything you can see. And not believing this makes you go against the laws of nature.

Unless you change some of your current habits for new ones, you will continue to get the same thing, no matter what you do. All things in your life are a result of what you do because you live in a world of cause and effect!

How to Stay Motivated So to change your outer world and be motivated all the time, or almost all the time, you need to change your inner world.

Follow these 3 helping tips to stay motivated and to focus on reaching your goals.

1. Realign Your Focus. When you lack motivation towards your goals, realign your focus. Meaning that if you feel down and somehow think you may never reach your goal, it is because you are most likely focusing on difficulties and further obstacles standing in your way. So, focus on the positive instead of dwelling on the negative. Stay focused on the goal. Just think and imagine how good you will feel the day you finally reach it.

2. Get Wells of Inspiration. It might take a while for objectives to be achieved, but you feel you will reach them one day. Get Wells of inspiration around you, people that will motivate you, lift you up and push forward to accomplish your goals. Surround yourself with friends and mentors who are a moral support to you and who inspire you to achieve since it is essential to stay motivated.

3. Have a Change of Atmosphere. The environment in which you live or work often helps your state of mind stay focused and motivated. A brand new atmosphere can encourage you to move forward. Change the scenery by working or doing things from different places or in new ways. Who said you have to struggle to reach your goals!

In Conclusion, the first element of change is Awareness. To stay motivated, or to continue to have motivation in spite of what comes your way, you must identify habits which bring you back down and change them. Stay motivated until you reach your goals. And once you experience this achievement you will feel much more inspired to continue.
