Clearly, one of the most wonderful things you can do for yourself is to learn from every experience you have ever had in life. Each and every day you are having small or large experiences, but you are the one which choose what to do with them.
The wisest people I know are the ones who see every experience in life as an opportunity to learn. Smart people can transform even the smallest experiences into lessons that drive them to become better at everything they undertake in the future and be an even higher-quality human being. Could you, too, learn from your life’s experiences and, in so doing, benefit tremendously from them?

Because you should understand that every experience in your life contains a lesson. Everything that takes place happens for a reason since you are the one in charge and in control of your life. I do believe there is no such thing as chance; you create your life.
“What you focus on grows, what you think about expands, and what you dwell upon determines your future.” – Robin Sharma
Lessons have to be learned in order to grow. In every experience in life, there are things that did and did not work for you. So your objective should always be to learn from what happened. The more you learn lessons from your experiences, the more you will grow and progress and the more you will be effective at whatever you choose or do in your career and life. Think back on your life: Are there things that have happened to you from which you can still learn? What experiences or lessons can you use to drive yourself forward? How can you get better at what you want to do now? These questions bring you to each of your experiences, no matter how trivial they are, and offer you a chance to learn some lesson or get some message. There are countless moments in your life from which you can choose to learn a lesson, or not. Your own experiences present a massive wealth of learning opportunities and possibilities on which you can build a better you. In my 20’s I was young and reckless, but then in my 30’s I made the choice to learn from my past experiences to be where I am today, as well as from books or mentors because I wasn’t really growing. Today I have such an even stronger desire to invest in my future.
What should you learn from your past? You ordinarily shouldn’t dwell on your past; however the only exception you can make is if you want to learn from it. Learning from your past provides you with a solid and rich foundation for your future. You can learn from your life’s experiences every day, and each day it could provide you with a better experience for your future. Your past and its lessons set the stage for what you could do differently tomorrow. There is so much available that can enrich your future. So my advice to you would be to learn from your past to enjoy a happy future. But let go of it as soon as you have understood the lesson, because you are the only one who can control your responses to other people’s behaviors. Life is about the choices you make or made and those choices are containing small or grand lessons to be learned and once you have learned them, you should move on to the next lessons unless you make a mistake. Then and there, you will have no choice but to repeat that lesson as it only gets harder and harder.
Nothing occurs by chance, you are in charge. Remember: You are responsible for creating your own reality, since every action produces a reaction. There is a cause and effect, an opposite for all things in life, as one cannot exist without the other. So what reality are you creating for yourself? You can learn to identify the events in your life that are the result of your current behaviors, the thoughts of your mind, and the results of your karma to improve your mental and spiritual growth. Developing and building the strength of your willpower and the clarity of your goals will provide you with the power to create your own reality. You and only you can determine your level of success by the experience that you are confronted with daily. All of your experiences and lessons allow you to grow, develop and progress to higher levels of life. So think of being grateful for these wonderful and sometime unpleasant experiences and lessons because they are the greatest ingredients for your progression in life, as well as your improvement to success and a better self.
