Having patience and persistence does actually go both ways. When you have a partner, wife, girlfriend, husband, boyfriend and they know you are hustling for the future, they usually should be patient with you while supporting your determination. But then, why most don’t?

Most people often seek instant gratification. We live in a world of fast food, movies downloading, and mobile phones holding all kind of uninterrupted apps which makes us feel like we should be able to get whatever we want with the snap of a finger. But building and growing a business doesn't happen that way. You will need to put in a lot of time to build your business and yourself as an authority in your field. I am pretty sure that many of you are struggling with family life and business life, but please don’t give up on your business regardless of what they or others might say or think. Trust your feelings. Communicate with your family, and let them know that you are going to be busy and need to work to build a better life for them. Many of them might say that they want to see results instead of words, but keep at it with all your might and don’t let them influence you.

All is Possible and Manageable Remind yourself that you are doing this because you love it but also because you love to be able to provide for your family, so you grind daily. Do not forget to differentiate and take the need to set time apart for doing certain things. Have time for family and time for grinding. Especially those of you who work a day job and hustle on the side while trying to stay connected with your family as well. It is difficult, I know! But it’s possible and manageable. Keep communicating with your loved ones. Don’t consider building a business as a sprint but more as a marathon , or more precisely as taking part in a multiple sport event. It takes patience, requires an unwavering persistence all the way through, involves many hurts along the way and requires immense self-discipline. Expecting anything less or anything quicker is preparing yourself for a huge disappointment. Of course, it is possible to grow a business quickly, but the odds are often against you. The past is full with businesses which fell apart when growing was too fast. What takes longer lasts a lifetime.

Patience and Persistence Patience and persistence should be and are from now on your mantra. Persistence designates a capacity to push and grind toward your chief aim, even if this chief aim of yours seems way out of reach. The finish line is reached through a word of tenacity and obsession, called persistence . While patience seems to be a capacity of riding things out, it doesn’t mean to wait until good things come your way but to take the necessary steps to make things happen. Forget the saying "Good things come to those who wait" or you will be waiting where you are forever. You need persistence because most lasting things often take longer than usually expected, even 2 or 3 times longer. It can be challenging and demanding to keep going when you feel pressure from your loved ones or when you are not seeing instant results and achievement. Patience and persistence are also vital because somehow, someway, you will make mistakes, some bigger than others. Making mistakes is a part of life, but we learn, move on and improve from mistakes like milestones. Don’t you ever give up early, or you will lose the chance to learn from your mistakes so you may grow, and you will feel like you have failed.

Do not Wait for Success to Come It is difficult to know if the idea of working hard and doing whatever is necessary is enough to bring success. Success never comes to anyone. There is no lift for it, you need to take the stairs, meaning that you need to go out

there and make it happen. You, as an entrepreneur or leader, have a vision and a passion, and you are bound to act until that dream becomes a physical reality. It is called "drive". Your loved ones may not understand this persistence and patience of yours but again, don't let them inuence you in giving up if things take longer than planned. Look for signs that say you are on track, keep doing, do not burn yourself out and keep moving forward to the ďŹ nish line. Share your comments below.
