Reading is the key to education. It is a passion that I have since I am 8 years old and that today everyone should have. The more you read the more you educate one-self to a better life. So why less and less people, younger and older, aren’t reading books these days, even though there are so many audio books or e-Books for free everywhere on the web? There even exist hundreds of free applications to be able to read on a smart phone or a tablet. Most of us, but not all of us, know that knowledge is power!
As a child As a child, I made the choice to read book after book to escape a reality and to create a better one for myself, I had to imagine another life that I would visualize to get through the day. What I mean is that at the beginning of my childhood, any book was fine as I was locked in the attic of my home almost every time my father felt anger and decided to lock me in it. Sometime, I would spend weeks there, after school or after dinner. Out there, I would stumble on books in cardboard boxes that were often of Agatha Christie or about Sherlock Holmes. At that time, in the 70’s, the internet didn’t exist yet, and computers were as big as the room they were in. Steve Jobs was still working in his garage to create what was to become Apple, and Bill Gates had dropped out of Harvard to create Microsoft.

Throughout my youth Throughout my early youth I would read all I could, and then when outside was possible, I would go and meditate on the highest point, and there visualize my future. Every time I would visualize what I wanted, it would happen, maybe not in the appropriate time I desired it but later, thus happening. To be truthful, most of the time I started a project or anything else for that matter, I have never finished it, never seeing it through to the end but instead abandoning it by going on to what I thought were better things. It was a big mistake in my life to not see the things I had put an effort in through, but such a great learning experience. I succeeded anyway at a few things, like horses as I grew up with them, they were always by my side, and they are the only thing that kept me alive during my childhood years. Another thing I was also good at was Shaolin Kung Fu, even it is a lifetime learning, I still have studied 10 years of invaluable and precious insights.

Reading is the key to education I kept reading books about all kind of subjects, going from detective stories to much deeper subjects like subconscious and law of attraction. The first book that really made me think was “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho. It was throughout living my last year in California before I decided to leave the United States and go to Moscow, Russia to then go back to my native Ukraine. As reading is the key to education, I kept on reading and visualizing a better life for myself. It is when I began to live in Belgium that I realized that I should reprogram my subconscious and focus more on the law of attraction to get rid of the negative thoughts that I had acquired during my life. The second book hit me so strongly that it opened my eyes to the truth I had been seeking for all this time, and it was given to me through a friend. This book made me make a decision that changed my life completely and for the better. It was a book by Tim Ferriss, “The Four Hour Week”. I was hooked!

my own terms and through my own accord. And I knew it wasn’t too late to take a risk and change my life, the country I lived in, and the beliefs I had, all that despite being 50 years old. My belief in reading is the key to education got me in the third book that changed me, it came a couple years later; it was “Mastery” by Robert Greene. Through it, I understood that I could become a master in any field I desired to choose, if I applied myself and learned. And that I was already an expert in a few fields. People worry so much more about where I am coming from, when they should worry a little more about where I am going. Therefore, you can realize that learning is for life, that bettering yourself through knowledge and self-development is an asset that school institutions or colleges do not teach you. Reading is the key to education. So take a book, read, don’t be the same, be better! My passion and my purpose, today, as a life coach and freedompreneur, are to help other like-minded people, just like you, to realize that there is more to life, that you can achieve your dreams and get a fruitful life through your vision of freedom.
