01 G- CAFÉ Ningpo Zhejiang Province China Complete: 2015 Skills: AutoCAD, SketchUp, PS G- CAFÉ, as Greenland’s first café open to the public, it is prepared to the standard of the ”Green Magic”. Transforming Greenland company culture” Greenland, create better life” to “G- Café, enjoy the better life”. Greenland picked their first location in the small city Nongbo, China to test market. The project supposed to cost only two months to complete the design & planning, decoration, equipment procurement, employment and training. Surrounded with glass façade and a 19.4 feet high space was introduced to maximize daylight in the entrance of a mall. I was tasked with developing the design concept, 3D modeling, material choosing, presentation, and the preliminary CAD drawings. Reclaimed wood, brushed black stainless steel, a growth treelike pattern system and drop light bulbs were chosen to pay tribute to the space present. Custom wallshelf fixed by rebar at the ceiling, white sawtooth tile with recycled woodfloor, and furniture were selected to be fabricated a comfort atmosphere.

The Heart of the Cross-routes The G- Café store has 2,067 square feet, locates at one of the mall entrance. The public allowed the cross-routes to blur the traffic flows and create an outdoor first impression with glass facade. A vital community moment of “GCafé, enjoy your local community”. The G-Café front beckons in visitors, the spacious and inviting interior spaces create a welcoming code.
The water-conservancy and Confucian-business culture together formed a peaceful and poetic settlement in Ningpo. Yuwan Sun 6
The semi-interior architecture A story, a plot, and more is an abstract thought. The philosophical expression of oriental culture is carried out in the semi-interior space.
Ancient buildings have cleverly used outer space to form a courtyard. The courtyard is the basic unit of the construction site. It is both indoor and outdoor. It is both artificial and natural. ysun108@hawk.iit.edu 7
Near the walls, the working counters(red area) and the storage(blue area) are divided to face the open space. The green area is a traffic hub, customers are entering the store, ordering and looking around the store in this hub. Extending the two dimensions of the green area to three dimensions as a pre-creation area.
Tree has the same character of China ancient architecture culture, a semi-interior space beneath the branches.
Materials: White sawtooth tile, gray carpet, recycle wood floor, wood veneer, greens Yuwan Sun 8

02 JELLYFISH SPACE Graduation project Conceptual Skills: Hand-sketch, 3Dmax, PS
Exploring the possibility of space, the bionic sculpture modeling is one of the bionic design methods, mainly simulating the shape and color of organisms, which belongs to a more sensitive bionic design method. Every life has its own symbolic meaning, jellyfish’s soft aesthetic feeling with a strong sense of nature sculpture model, absorption of the growth mechanism of jellyfish by nature imitate organisms, create an organic feeling and can be used in living spaces, gives the building a special life force. Hand sketching the jellyfish to learn their biology structures, transfer them into the three dimension modeling, adjust the shape of the building according to the needs of the interior spaces. The indoor space is the most interested part we plan to explore, design was driven by questions “can we have an interior space without a straight line”, ”how does it look like”.
This project had been selected in “2011 Seoul, Tokyo and Shanghai design year exhibition” hold by Donghua university.

Most of the jellyfish’s body has three main parts: round umbrella or bell shaped body, touch device and arms. The jellyfish has some special muscles under the bell , it expands and shrinks rapidly, drains the water out of the body , then they could swim in the opposite direction through the way of water jet propulsion.

03 HQ OFFICE Hongqiao Shanghai China Complete: 2015 Skills: Hand-sketch, SketchUp, PS HQ office belonged to developer CIFI group, CIFI wanted this office to be a show office represented the company’s office product, and will sale it after the show phase. This project was due to the time I worked for M2 interior architecture design, we won the project from the concept proposal competition in 2014. A detached building with four standard floors, one basement and one rooftop. The architecture area is 13,778 Square Feet. We defined the show office as an architecture firm which we understand the way of architects’ working code. The tendency is aim to have an open workplace which architects will get more communications one another. Traditionally we divided the functions to plan first, we removed few parts of the floor and established the link between floors, organized the traffic solutions as started concept. We moved the staircases from the corner to the middle to divide the meeting room and working places. Worked directly with directors and clients, I was tasked to prepare the concept design in the competition phase; the plan developing, SketchUp modeling, materials choosing and preliminary drawing for the design phase.
With Weimo Feng(Director), Frederic Addey(Creative Director), ShengWei Qin(Construction designer) This show office won the first class of 2016 Interior Design office section.

Removed the floor at the second and third levels which on the top of the entrance, let more natural light introduce into the building, defined the basement as a sharing or training hub for employees, introduced a staged staircase to the basement. The top floor terrace is the only space that has been treated clearly as a luxurious space for the company owner, it’s assistant and especially for the company’s clients.

The vision is hanging out of the two large boxes - the meeting rooms. The staircase divided each floor into two parts: the left as the meeting room, the right as the open office, keeping the original plan in the fourth floor to having enough working area.

As the parts of floor had been removed, reinforcing beams were added for the floors, getting the maximized nature light, and second and third floor connected to each other. Using red color and modeling structure to transform the beams into the visual center. The structure is coming from the two beams, which are the positions that we removed their floors.

04 SCULPTURE ARCHITECTURE Academic project Conceptual Skills: Hand-sketch, SketchUp, 3Dmax, PS
Irregular space with project definition: self-designed environment, exploring the possibility of architecture design. Irregular triangle was used as the unit of design, forming the inclined planes. Interior spaces created with the artistic interest and the sense of space fiction, just like magic, with the transformation of the each space, constantly brought surprises to the experiencers. Idea location of the project: Mahler villa, No. 30 Shaanxi South Road in Jing ’an District, Shanghai, the green square front of the villa was divided from the downtown. The 3D model was used to establish spatial relations, and search for inclined planes suitable for buildings. Outdoor forms are adjusted accordingly to the needs of indoor functions to explore interior non Quartet space.
ysun108@hawk.iit.edu 21
The inclined plane The study began with the hand-sketches of inclined planes, the tendency of the sculpture idea, transforming the two-dimension to threedimensional space, according to the needs of interior functions to adjust the modeling.
