In the movement system, the highest amount of people pass the concrete lawn at 3pm, and least amount of people walk through here at 9pm.

My Idea of the model comes from double-helix, it’s elegant and wavy line attracted me to create something with its unique elements. There are different length of the beams that extend out of the frame edge. In this stage, it represents our creative thinking should get rid off the common rule, we need thinking without border.

Landform Section 1:1 @ A3

The landform model is inspired by the terraced fields, stepping are the main structure of the whole model. The middle part of the model seems like human’s foot, as I associate ancient people exploit this kinds of landform to produce corn, which symbolize the creative ability of people can change exist thing to a more meaningful and useful way. In other words, we can endow the unique meaning and vitality on the object by using our unrestrained creativity.

Assemblage Section 1:1 @ A3

Plan 1:1 @ A3 By developing the collision character of the assemblage model, I use the beams to insert into the top part of the ‘terraced filed’ and ground. Moreover, I did not enclose the base ground, makes the ground visible that show the insert part more clearly.

Narrative Collage -Sea monsterWhat are hiding in the sea? ‘Mermaid’ answered by the romantic photographer ‘Lingcod’ said by the angler On the other side of the boat, captain is wondering What are hiding in the sea? The agglomerate floater or a big reef? What’s thing are real hiding in the sea? Who knows, it could be a sea-monsters prepare to swallow every lives on the sea. This narrative explores the different people has diverse opinions even they observe one object. However, the truth is beyond what they think.

Superimposition

By using the Photoshop, I overlap the model photo, narrative collage and concrete lawn map. I trace the edge of the model’s shadow and distort the right side of the photo, edit each layers’ transparency for several times that can present best view to trace the interest shapes on the butter paper.

Experience Collage

section 1:50 @ A3 The first experience collage is drew by the Rhino, I change the line weight in the Rhino to show the cutting side of section. The use of the material of concrete, and background of the msd building to create experience and atmosphere on the collage. Also the model people to emerge the scale of the model. For the material, I choose the green concrete to build my construction, green concrete has less cement than regular concrete, replace some of the cement with recycled materials, like powdered slag and fly-ash. These renewable resources do not release any greenhouse gases during production; it has high life cycle sustainability also strong quality.

Final Project

Section1:100 @ A1 The final model is called ‘chirp chirp’ designed as a place for people to debate. I created the different shape of the seats in the ‘chirp chirp’ represent people’s diverse opinions. For the spatial arrangement, the stepping seats located at two different section that opposite with each other, can be the two big groups when people debating one topic. People who sit on the scattered seat are the free people can either debate for any group. The Beams cross through the concrete lawn, they have different length, height, also arrange in different direction, which symbolize people’s various thinking from different sides. They collide and meet with each other when they discus a same topic. The collision point is direct up on the podium. The podium allow the host to announce the debating topic.

Final Project

Plan 1:200 @ A1 However, people also can debate in a small group when there are no big d ebating activities. They can either sit on the free seat or the stairs seats. It also can be a place that people can discuss their group work, assignment and so on. For the movement system, each stairs seat remain the pathway that allow people to walk through.
