The site is surround by the poetic landscape of Rivlin Valley. The breif is to deisgn a bakery with a tradional stove built by earth. The bakery also serves as a place of communication and a shelter for hikers. The route into the bakery is defined by the void between trees, flow of the rive and the topography of the land. Rather than its exterior visual expression, the building is special for the experience of all the sense inside the building. A warm entrance is designed above the stove and inclosed by walls of high thermal mass. The proportion of the doors and windows are carefully designed to blur the boundary between inside and outside, people and nature.

MARKET THEATRE Darnall
Located in Darnall, one the poorest and highest crime rate areas in the country, the programme aims to hold a community theatre and a market under one roof. The concept is inspired by the theatre theorist Peter Brook, who considers the market as the birthplace of the creation of everyday life, which he called 'rough theatre', can be the inspiration of the deadly 'holy theatre'. A drama studio, also a temporary performance space is placed in the middle of the market. The movable walls of the upper floor theatre give extra space to the market when no performance during daytime. Spatially, the layout of the market refers to the Global Shakespeare Theatre, considering its flexibility and openness. The curve walls are transferred from the common architectural language used for theatre 'box'. The symbol of the social status and wealth, now democratized into the common social space. The form also recalls the curtains of the backstage, gives strong visual identity to the town.

HOUSE ON THE RUIN [First Year Prize in Architecture] Kelham Island
The site is located on the one of only two remaining Crucible Furnace ruins in Kelham Island, the historic steel industry zone in Sheffield. The brief requires to design a studio and home for a father who is a furniture maker using reclaimed wood and metal and his young daughter suffering achromatopsia, also known as total colour blindness. Working rather than an architect, but an archaeologist, the ruin is treated as a urban archaeology, and the narrative of the site is reconstructed by tracing history and collecting memory. The house is designed following the will of the ruin, and bonded with the needs of clients.
