This is my first MArch design project—a community center in downtown Kitchener, situated on the site of the former Charles Street Terminal. The design preserves the historical facade materials, honoring community memories while seamlessly adapting to modern needs. By emphasizing architecture as a vessel for life and memory, the project bridges the past and future, retaining the cultural and historical essence of the original site. Unlike my previous projects, this is my first with a Canadian context and includes detailed HVAC and building envelope design, ensuring greater feasibility and practicality.
