The Mountain in City
Hotel and Market renovating old Metro Station
The site is situated in downtown Atlanta, amidst an area with a notably high crime rate within the city. Despite the presence of a metro station on-site, it is underutilized by the public. Our aim is to revitalize the site by infusing it with energy to attract more visitors.
To achieve this, I propose the construction of a hotel that remains active round-the-clock, fostering a sense of community and safety through constant human presence. By strategically positioning spaces to overlook one another from different floors, we promote social interaction and mutual support among occupants. This concept aims to reintroduce the human connection that is often found in rural settings back into the urban fabric. Additionally, incorporating a market space provides an opportunity for locals to gather, forming a cohesive and vibrant community within the site.

A Stepped Shaft of Light
Education Center
Site: Washington DC
An education center operates around the clock, offering learning opportunities both day and night. During daylight hours, light shafts penetrate into each classroom, illuminating them with natural sunlight.
As evening falls, the stair shafts become illuminated, casting a warm glow throughout the school, creating a welcoming and comforting atmosphere for nighttime activities and study sessions.

The project is situated on a site fraught with controversy, once a battleground between law enforcement and youth groups. While discussions surrounding this site remain unsettled, my focus is directed towards shaping a forwardlooking future.
By implementing a child education program within this space, I aim to foster harmony and understanding among disparate groups. The consensus on the importance of educating children serves as a common ground, transcending the divisions that once defined this area.

Artist Studio dedicated to Mariko Mori
Inspired by Mariko’s work
The project reinterprets Mariko Mori’s artwork, transforming the circular motif into a dynamic architectural form inspired by a water tower. Envisioned as both a residency and workspace tailored to her creative needs.
This greater project is a collaborative effort by our studio. We envisioned an imaginative campus that features artists’ residences and educational spaces.
