Legendary Hospitality Achieves Outstanding Rehabilitation Recognition

Award-winning interior designer Yvonne Roberts of Guru of Luxury receives statewide recognition for Hotel Retlaw and announces plans for its newest groundbreaking property, The Legacy Hotel, Green Bay GREEN BAY (July 23, 2020) – Hotel Retlaw, a downtown Fond du Lac luxury boutique hotel developed by Legendary Hospitality, LLC, wins its second prestigious 2019 Wisconsin Main Street Award for outstanding design and interior renovation. Wisconsin Main Street, the state’s community revitalization development program which targets historic commercial districts, announced the statewide winners for year 2019. Yvonne Roberts, principal and creative director at Guru of Luxury, was awarded “best interior design and rehabilitation of a building over $50,000” for her work on the Hotel Retlaw. Previously, Ms. Roberts and the Hotel Retlaw received local recognition as winner for “outstanding renovation to the interior” in Fond Du Lac. Legendary Hospitality acquired the Hotel Retlaw building in 2016 and proceeded to undertake a comprehensive $26 million rehabilitation to restore its 1920s heritage. In addition to boosting economic development within the community, the project has been recognized for numerous accolades and featured nationwide in publications such as Midwest Living, Lodging Magazine, Premier Hospitality International, Hotel Management and more. “We wanted the design to embody the neoclassical era while maintaining the structural heritage of the original building,” said Roberts. “Working on projects like this gives me a great sense of satisfaction to revitalize a legacy for the community that they can experience for generations to come.” Legendary Hospitality plans to break ground on its newest project, the Legacy Hotel, in Green Bay this fall, collaborating with Vicki Fabry, President of Saranac Glove Company and RODAC Development and Construction. Ms. Fabry has strong ties within the community and RODAC was also the contractor of record for the Hotel Retlaw project. The Legacy Hotel, a five-story property, will feature 77 suites, a luxury spa, expansive catering facilities, a brasserie, café and rooftop bar with outdoor terrace, located in the heart of the city’s “Legends District” east of Lambeau Field. “We are excited for the opportunity to be a part of the city’s vision to develop the Legends District,” said Dennis Doucette, principal and managing director at Legendary Hospitality, LLC. “The Legacy will be one of the most distinguished hotels in the Midwest, offering ‘accessible luxury’ for those seeking optimal value and upscale accommodations.” ###
