TO ALL THE UNPLEASURE

2020 is a special year; the fear, the unknown, of future interfere with people’s minds. What is that? How could I deal with it? All these questions bring out other thoughts Why I have that? Did I choose the right choice? Who should I blame? The hatreds and the injustices come out with the pandemic. People get aggressive, mindless, with the rising rate of unemployment, homeless, famine, bankrupt, and death. This is the first time that we, the youths, realized the limitation

“It is coming out.

It is a copper flower, a deformed and exploded sphere

integrating with sprayed curvy steel wire. This choker mimics the characters of coronavirus, symbolized the concept of quick expanding on the early stage. The sphere almost approaches to my throat, stimulating the nervousness and overwhelming. The unfixed wires with ending knots get in and out, becoming longer and shorter and changing the look of the projects by the moves.

Cooper is reddish, reflected with the silver light. The

color contrast with skin tone, wrapping around and embedding into my neck.

It is the manifesto of this new virus, close my throat,

around my neck, on my body.

THE FUZZINESS metal wire, paper 45cm*5cm

“It is nonstop-able.

The circular fuzzy necklace composed of silver metal

wire and black paper strip, following the waving dynamic language. The black and white curves merge together, popping out and diving around my neck.

It invades my body, bothering me, choking me, even

killing me. The black strips are all over; they are uncontrollable, like the virus.

“There is hope.”

Artists mimic flowers; it is the topic that never outdated,

representing the goodness, prosperity.

This is a hand-made paper camellia that is blooming and

sparkling. With the linear elements that work as the leaves and branches, the paper camellia is dynamic and vivid as earrings. The black branches with sparkles are shining merge with my black hair, shaking and reflecting different light when my body moves.

The Camellia grows on my hair; isn’t the dawn is back-

ing back.

INFINITE SENSE plastic mesh, cotton strings 4cm*5cm

“It is unpredictable.

I keep things ambiguous, loving the process that

an object, a form, a color, or even an angle intrigues my thought and imagination at a different time.

The project, Infinite sense, used plastic mesh,

which is sprayed with black and white, creating a kind of vague but attractive visual exploration.

These so-called structures are wrapped, shrink-

ing, and extending. It is a loop with various visual experiences through the black and white colors overlapping and deviating. It likes a shell, a constructed pavilion, a seashell that grows on my ears. The formal and visual investigation, the undefined, reflected the vagueness of the virus. It disappeared and came back.

UNCOMFORT

tinfoil, steel wire, metal mash 24cm*18cm

“What is going on? Why are people scared of

me?”

This is a conceptual mask that is abnormal, bi-

zarre, and uncomfortable.

What is that?

The metal mash covered the nose, and the rubbed

tinfoil formed the textured surface that comes out from lips to cheek. The curvy wire extended out from the tinfoil surface, distancing the surrounding. Two flowers settled on each side of the ears.

The wire goes around my face, becomes the skele-

ton, supporting this fragile piece of work. It looks all fine except it approaches my right eye.

“look up, look up”

I cannot close my eye anymore.

“look at this, look at this”

I tell myself, and, yes, it might be the time to face

the fear, the unpleasure*
