When Hollywood star Lindsay Lohan got drunk, while on probation, she was hauled into court. At the hearing, LiLo wore nail tattoos with a four letter word on it. Needless to say, she was sentenced to jail!

The Queer Pride Parade got bigger and better this year in November. The LGBT community and their friends and family came out on the streets of Delhi, in support of their rights.
Rajasthan Royals cricket team captain Shane Warne stayed in news, first due to the IPL controversy in April and then, more recently in December, for his affair with Elizabeth Hurley, Hollywood actor and Indian industrialist Arun Nayar’s wife.

Designer Rohit Bal ended a fashion week, earlier in the year, with a dramatic fashion show in a swimming pool. Rohit suffered a heart attack in February, shocking the entire industry.

...the new rupee symbol has arrived. Unveiled in July, it was designed by IITian D Udaya Kumar, who was picked after a nationwide hunt. The new symbol ‘R’ is a combination of the Hindi script and the Roman alphabet.
