RACE BOOK PROBLEM Racism is a global, persistent and systemic problem that has plagued humankind for thousands of years. It is difficult to combat because there are no laws against it and very little punishment or consequences for its practitioners. Particularly in the online space. INSIGHT Changing someone’s attitudes is a process that can take a lifetime. Changing someone’s behavior can take seconds, if properly motivated. SOLUTION Race Book is that motivation. It is a searchable database whose purpose is exposing practitioners of racism and hate in the online world. Hopefully, in the future it will be a required part of background checks, much like credit and criminal history. 3 STEPS 1) When you see hateful content online, take a screenshot. 2) Go to endonlineracism.wordpress.com 3) Drop it in the book, where it is entered into a searchable database. RESULT People will be less inclined to pollute our online world with hate and ignorance if they are held accountable for such behavior. Race Book intends to be the vehicle for this accountability.
