AMERICAN DREAM: OUR COVER STORY

My American dream has always been to be a working mom with a family and a career I love. I never realized how challenging and how rewarding it would be.

Maika and I both came from homes that valued family first. As we started dating, I think it was clear very early that we wanted a new family together. Within the first month of dating, I remember watching Maika bake an apple pie for a friend that was upset about a break-up. I knew then he would be an awesome father.

After years of trying to start a family and beginning to tour IVF clinics, we learned that our little miracle was finally coming! We named him Theodore, which means “gift from God.” And now we couldn’t be happier to be welcoming our second son in February of 2022.
