Shine at OBU

JOEL STONE – Locust Grove, OK

OBU is a place where you can grow in your faith,

ERICA MAIA – São Paulo, Brazil

where you can think and prepare for the future,

TED FITZGERALD – Burleson, TX

where you can question and find answers,

and where you can shine.

You are the light of the world. During Welcome Week, students gather for a candlelight service on the lawn outside the student center. It’s a time of worship and dedication to the year ahead.

Preparing you to be Light A vibrant campus life brings you together within a community. This family atmosphere helps prepare you to be light, and provides a common experience with other students so that you will leave OBU with lifelong friends and a stronger faith. Campus life is stacked with great events: coffeehouse concerts, movie nights, chapel, talent shows, service projects, theatre productions, Bible studies, and fine arts concerts. Don’t forget intramural sports that include everything from flag football to ultimate frisbee with more than 800 students participating each year.

The education at OBU is all I thought it would be. The student-teacher relationships are ideal. Leah Gross Boston, MA Public Relations

Lighten your Load Paying for college can be a challenge. At OBU, we are here to help lighten the load you’ll pay for college with both need-based and merit-based aid. We have consistently been one of the more affordable Christian universities in America. What does that mean? It means that more than 90 percent of OBU students receive some type of aid. In scholarships alone, last year’s total was more than seven million dollars. Our financial aid team is ready to help.

OBU fosters an amazing competence in each of its students, regardless of major. This comes from the willingness of the faculty to share in the student lives on a personal level. Cody Stull – Kansas City, MO / Art

Strike up a plan WHERE DO YOU START? The first step is the application. It’s an easy process. We can mail you the application or simply go online at www.okbu.edu/admissions. We’ll get our team to review it and have an answer back to you soon after. From here, schedule a visit to OBU. Check out the website for the full calendar of events, and if you can’t make these dates, give us a call. Individual visits are always welcome. Don’t forget about financial aid. You may want to begin talking with your high school counselor about scholarship opportunities. OBU gives out millions of dollars each year, but your counselor may know of other opportunities to help defer your cost of college. By February, you will want to complete the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA website is www.fafsa.ed.gov. OBU’s school code is 003164. You are well on your way at this point. As always, call us with any questions.
