My name is Zamná Ávila. I am a working journalist and a graduate student at Quinnipiac University, based in Hamden, Conn. Full disclosure: As a journalist, I strive to live up to superior ethics standards. If I befriend someone on Facebook or I 'like' something on Facebook, it may not be because I actually am a friend to someone or like something. Instead it is something I do to keep track of the news cycle. As the assistant editor for Random Lengths News, a community paper in San Pedro, Calif., I am well aware of the pressures of supervising writers, adhering to strict deadlines and working under pressure.
