Affiliate Marketing Rules So you have been wanting to get into affiliate marketing, and want to know the rules. You have your website and or blog all set up and ready to go. You have chosen your niche and market that you want to promote and make money off of. You just need links to start making money. Promoting other’s services and products is not something that is difficult to do. However, you will find that with all of the many companies that offer affiliate programs, and referral options, they all have their own rules that you must follow. Affiliate marketing is pretty easy to follow, that is unless you have many different programs that you are a part of. When you start getting so many that you cannot remember the rules, or the guidelines that you have to follow, you might have a problem. This is because the rules for affiliate programs are as different as the companies. Each company is allowed to make their own rules. However, you might see many similarities. That does not mean that they are copying one another, or cloning their affiliate program so to speak, but yet it means that they have the same rules. Affiliate marketing rules can be so very different. They can range from not mentioning the brand names that they sell anywhere on your website, to not have that particular market in your website URL. Because they are so different for each program and company that you promote, you are going to have to be sure that you read each one well and make sure that you understand it fully. If you already have your URL for your website, you may not be able to participate in some of the affiliate programs. This is because you will not meet the requirements for the rules. Another rule that you are going to see often when you are into affiliate marketing is the page rank rule. Some of the companies that will allow you to promote their services or products will not want you to have a higher page rank than they do. Nor will they allow you to have a website that is higher in the search engine rankings. For example, if you were promoting coffee, and you wanted to become an affiliate for Folgers coffee, your website would not be able to come up above the official Folgers coffee website in the search engine results when coffee, or Folgers coffee is used as the search term. The companies that have this rule in place for their affiliate marketing programs feel as if your website were higher than theirs for the product that they are selling, that it would hurt their business tremendously. And, it just might. They would rather have the straight sales any day, than the commissioned sales. Who wouldn’t? Keeping a spreadsheet of the affiliate marketing programs that you are a part of and their rules is a great idea. This way you are never confused

Not only that, you will also find that some of the sites that have broken rules and have been caught have resulted in law suits. Cover your tracks and make sure that you are following the rules that are set by that company for the best results. Staying Away From Scams Many of us are upset and frustrated with our current jobs. The low pay and sense of being undervalued drive many of us to dream of our own businesses. However, the costs combines with the risk factors stops most of us in our tracks. Affiliate marketing is a way for people to work for themselves with no risk. There is no cost to you and you’re paid on performance. However, today one has to be careful. There are plenty of scammers and con artists out there that are more than happy to take you money and hard work off of you. Unfortunately, affiliate marketing is not immune to these scammers. Daily, people are taken in by promises of big money with relatively little effort. In this article we will teach you some of the signs to look for and tell you how to spot a scam. Easy Profits Using PPC In Your Affiliate Marketing Business PPC is one of the four basic types of Search Engines. PPC is also one of the most cost-effective ways of targeted internet advertising. According to Forbes magazine, PPC or Pay Per Click, accounts to 2 billion dollars a year and is expected to increase to around 8 billion dollars by the year 2008. Let us take a quick look at how PPC Search Engines work. These engines create listings and rate them based on a bid amount the website owner is willing to pay for each click from that search engine. Advertisers bid against each other to receive higher ranking for a specific keyword or phrase. The highest bidder for a certain keyword or phrase will then have the site ranked as number 1 in the PPC Search Engines followed by the second and third highest bidder, up to the last number that have placed a bid on the same keyword or phrase. 7 Quick Tips For Online Business 1. Invest in yourself. You can’t expect to be successful if you don’t invest in yourself. This business is changing every single day and you need to stay in touch with all the new things. Also, I’m willing to bet that you didn’t get over the basics yet, so there is really no excuses for not investing in yourself – in learning material, new products, software, scripts and other types of equipment that will help you to be more successful online. Don’t tell me you don’t have money for it because I don’t believe you. I saw so many people telling me they don’t have money for a $10 report or $47 product, but they are spending $50 per month on lottery tickets or $100 on cable TV. So, you have money but you have to pick your priorities. How will you invest in yourself, by buying useless lottery tickets or informative and useful reports, education products and software?
2. Don’t count on luck. This business is not football and luck has nothing with success in online business. Counting on luck is for losers, while all successful people count only on their knowledge, expertise and hard work. Keep that on your mind. You can put some crappy website online and expect to become rich. That’s why all those push-button software doesn’t work. You can’t expect to put an opt-in form on blank page and expect to get hundreds of thousands of subscribers. It simply doesn’t work that way. You can expect success and serious income only if you put a significant amount of time, work and effort in this business, along with money for important investments.
3. Have no excuses. “Sorry, I couldn’t make that website on time because there was a football game on TV” … “Damn! I didn’t finish that article because my cat was sick and I couldn’t work” … “I know that software can help me with my business but I will purchase it next month because I’m going out this weekend and need money for my booze” … As long as you make such a stupid excuses you will not become successful, you will stay where you are right now. 4. Never be boring. People don’t like boring people and boring websites. So never be boring and give your best to be as entertaining as possible. That counts especially for your content, as well as your presentations on video. Keep in mind that people don’t like too much unrelated and boring content – they don’t have time for that – they want clear, understandable, quick and concise content. Plus, they want to be entertained while listening or reading your content. Your job is to give them what they want.
5. Be pleasant to your customers. Give your best to present your content in the best possible way for your readers. Remember, when you are presenting something, it’s not about you, it’s about your customers and visitors. If they are bored with your content or annoyed by your presentation, you are doing it wrong and you are losing your customers (or potential customers). Recently I was cancelled my membership to inner circle of one of pretty good marketers. Why? Because I couldn’t stand her voice! I bet no one ever told her that she sounds annoying while speaking, trying to emphasize something or trying to sound friendly. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me, but I couldn’t stand her voice. And don’t get me wrong, it’s not just about voice. Voice is perfectly fine. It’s about the way she’s speaking, which is something she should work on since she is a marketer who presents all her content through videos. What was even more annoying is that she often repeats herself – she repeats the whole sentences, word after word, in order to emphasize something. That’s OK if it happens once or twice now and then, but it’s more than bad when it happens all the time. Try not to lose your customers because of something like that. Work on yourself, try to make your presentation better and please get someone to listen your presentations and give you opinions. Or even better, ask your customers about their opinion. Of course, you can’t please everyone, but you should listen what majority of your customers says. I will said it again – it’s not about you, it’s about your customers. They are

6. Keep yourself in good condition. Do whatever you need to do to keep yourself in good shape, physically and mentally. If possible, try to exercise on a regular basis, probably in mornings before taking a shower and going to work. Take some time off from work and just relax. It’s proven many times that a human being can’t give 100% of himself if not in good physical and mental condition. So, do your best to stay fit and in good shape. That’s not only important for your business, it’s also important for your personal health.
7. Offer no-brainers. Whenever you are offering something online, give your best to make it a complete no-brainer for your visitors. In other words, always overdeliver and never hold anything back for a couple of bucks. Always make offers that are irresistible to your visitors and customers. Offer more content for smaller price, throw in some bonuses or make them special deals they won’t be able to say no to. By doing it this way people will respect you and come back to you whenever they need something in your niche. That’s how you build a serious, profitable and long term business online.
