Ramadan Supplications
supplication upon seeing the new moon
َ َ ْ َ َ ُ َّ َ َّ ُ َّ ُ َ ْ َ ُ َ الس َ األ ْمن َو َّ َو، يمان الم ِة ِ اإل ِ ِ ِ اللهم أ ِهله علينا ب، اهلل أكب َ َ َ ُّ َ َ َ ُّ َ ْ َو ُّ اتل ْوفيق ل َما ُت ُ ك . اهلل ربنا ورب، ب َر ُّبنَا َوت ْرض ِ ِ ِ ِ َّ َو، ِاإلسالم ِ
All¥hu akbar, All¥humma ahillahu ¢alayn¥ bi-l-amni wa-l-Ïm¥n, wa-s-sal¥mati wa-l-Isl¥m, wa-t-tawfÏqi lim¥ tu^ibbu Rabbun¥ wa tar\¥, Rabbun¥ wa Rabbuka-ll¥h. God is Great; Oh Allah, make the crescent rise over us, bringing with it safety, faith, peace, Islam, and the enablement to do what You like, Oh Lord, and what You are pleased with. My Lord and your Lord is Allah. (Ad-D¥rimÏ)
supplications when breaking the fast
َ َ َّ َّ ْ َ َ َ ْ َ َ ، فتَق َّبل ِمنا، َو َع ِر ْزقِك أف َط ْرنا، الل ُه َّم لك ُص ْمنَا َ ُ َّ َ ْ َ َ َّ ُ العل يم ِ إنك أنت الس ِميع
All¥humma laka |umn¥, wa ¢al¥ rizqika aftarn¥, fa-taqabbal minn¥, innaka Anta-s-SamÏ¢u-l-¢AlÏm. Oh Allah, it is for You have we fasted and with Your sustenance we break our fast, so accept from us; indeed You are the all-Hearing and all-Knowing. (Ibn as-SunnÏ)
َ َ َّ ُ َّ ُ َْ َ ُ ك ُص ْم َو َع ِر ْز ِقك أف َط ْرت، ت اللهم ل
All¥humma laka |umtu, wa ¢al¥ rizqika af~artu. Oh Allah, it is for You have I fasted and with Your sustenance I break my fast. (Abu Daw‰d )
ُ ََْ َ ُ احل َ ْم ُد ل َّالي أَ َعنَن فَ ُص ْم َو َر َزق ِن فأف َط ْرت، ت ِ ِ ِ ِ
Al-^amdu li-ll¥hi-lladhÏ a¢¥nanÏ fa-|umt, wa razaqanÏ fa-af~artu. Praise be to Allah, Who aided me so that I could fast and has given me sustenance so that I could break my fast. (Ibn as-SunnÏ)
general supplications
َ َّ َّ َّ َ َ َ َّ َ َ ْ ك أَن ُ السم َّ ت ُ يع الْ َعل يم ربنا تقبل ِمنا ۖ ِإن ِ ِ
Rabban¥ taqabbal minn¥ innaka Anta-s-SamÏ¢ ul-¢AlÏm Our Lord! Accept (this worship) from us! Indeed, You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing. (Qu’ran 2:127)
ُّ َر َّبنَا آتنَا ف َّ َ َ َ َ َ ً َ َ َ َ ِ ادلنيَا َح َسنَ ًة َوف ار ِ ِ ِ اآلخر ِة حسنة وقِنا عذاب انل ِ
Rabban¥ ¥tin¥ fi-d-duny¥ ^asanataw-wa fi’l-¥khirati ^asanataw-wa qin¥ ¢adh¥b an-n¥r Our Lord! Grant us good in this world and good in the afterlife, and protect us from the torment of the Fire! (Qur’an 2:201)
َ ُ ُ َ ّ ّ َ ُ َّ َ ْ َ ْ ْ َ ُ ُ َ َ ْ ك م ْن َع َذاب الْ َق يح ِ ِ ب وأعوذ بِك ِمن فِتن ِة الم ِس ِ ِاللهم ِإ ِن أعوذ ب ِ ْ َ ْ َ َ ْ َ ْ َ ْ ْ َ ُ ُ َ َ َّ َّ ُ ُ َ ّ َّ ُ َّ َ َ ات اللهم إِ ِن أعوذ ِ ال وأعوذ بِك ِمن فِتن ِة المحيا وفِتن ِة المم ِ ادلج ْ َ َِك ِم َن ال ْ َمأثَم َوال ْ َم ْغرم ِ ِب All¥h-humma innÏ a¢‰dhu bika min ¢adh¥b al-qabr, wa a¢‰dhu bika min fitnat il-masÏ^-id-dajj¥l, wa a¢‰dhu bika min fitnat il-ma^y¥ wa fitnat il-mam¥t. All¥humma innÏ a¢‰dhu bika min al-ma’thami wal-maghram. Oh Allah, I seek Your protection from the torment of the grave, and I seek Your protection from the trial of the False Messiah, and I seek Your protection from the trial of life and the trial of death. Oh Allah, I seek Your protection from sinful acts and debt. (Bukh¥rÏ)
supplication for the night of qadr
َ ُ ْ َ ْ ْ ُّ ُ ٌّ ُ َ َ َّ َّ ُ َّ ب ال َعف َو فاعف ع ِّن ت ِ اللهم إِنك عفو
All¥humma innaka ¢Afuwwun tu^ibbu-l-¢afwa fa-¢fu ¢anni. Oh Allah, You are Oft-Pardoning and You love pardoning, so pardon me. (Al-TirmidhÏ)
