NEWS: Our recent publication 'Play Sufficiency and Neighbourhood Layout' is now available. ZCD Architects bring a unique approach to designing and delivering buildings. One that is underpinned by evidence based research and a passion to understand how people use buildings and spaces. Surprisingly little information is available about how children use space in and around where they live - despite a growing awareness of the problems caused by their shrinking freedom to meet friends, play and roam around. Our first major publication: Housing Design for Community Life sets out to begin redressing this imbalance and provides evidence linking children's independent use of space to wider social community use.
