Constructivism is a modern theory – in general terms concerning the method of cognition – according to which knowledge is not discovered but created. The constructivist viewpoint has influenced many areas of social life: from scientific research, via media, to education on all its levels. Constructivists tempt their potential followers with clarity of reasoning, elegance of theorems and the real possibility to practically incorporate the research results into everyday work, also education, mostly referring to the communication between teachers and students.
We have decided to devote this issue of ‘Refleksje’ to constructivist-based pedagogy.
Constructivism theorists, for whom constructivist thinking is the best available method of examining reality, and teachers, who would like to share their views on constructivist
theories in the field of education and to show how they put them into practice, both
present their opinions.
