OUTPATIENT

The parking for outpatient & inpatient can be separated. The emergency entry can be used to enter emergency department. The outpatients should be placed near to diagnosis & treatment. The pharmacy should be placed with easy access for outpatient & Emergency. The ward on inpatient department should be monitored easily

DIAGNOSIS

CONSULTING SPACE  

The outpatient should be provided separate parking. The outpatients are patience who visit hospital for consulting..And thus it contains consulting space. The outpatient room should be placed near the diagnosis & treatment.

 

DIAGNOSIS

Area = 0.8m2/bed

NURSE

WARD

  

The x ray space should be designed with more care . The interior design should be the key to protect emission of rays outside. The lead is used to protect emission of rays through window.

WASH

Comes under the diagnosis, the CT scan is provided with the controller room Controller room not more than 4 sqm.

WORK AREA

Ward design Key problem in designing a efficient ward system is: relationship between nurse room & patience room. Consideration for ward deign are, walk distance, ventilation, lighting, noise etc.

ENTRY

DESIGN OF INPATIENT BLOCK   

Toilet for an individual room (single/2bedded) in a ward unit shall be 3.5sqm Common toilet to serve 2 such room shall be 5.25sqm. Width of the door should not be less than 1.2m and all ward should have an isolation unit.

OPERATION THEATHRE

A separate emergency entry should be provided. Should be placed in the ground floor. The glass panel are used in ICU for proper observation of the patience

INTENSIVE CARE UNIT Should preferably be located on the ground floor with convenient access from the operation theatre suit and emergency department and easy accessibility for wards. It consists patient area, staff area, support area 

DESIGN OF EMERGENCY BLOCK

   

Area of washroom for disable is 7.65sqm (3.4m x 2.25m) The toilet floor level should be depressed. The patience toilet should be separated from nurse toilet The duct should be provided between two toilets as shown, for ventilation.

Four basic requirements Direct observation of the patient by nursing and medical staff  Surveillance of physiological monitoring  Provision and efficient use of routine and emergency diagnostic procedures and interventions.  Recording and maintenance of patient information

These should include major surgical and medical cases, head injuries, severe haemorrhage, acute coronary occlusion kidney and respiratory catastrophe, poisoning,etc.. Thenumber of patients requiring intensive care may be about 2to 5 percent of total medical and surgical patients in ahospital. Theunit shall not have less than 4 beds nor more than 12 beds.
