Award Winning Programme As the leading provider of English speaking international childcare services in the Netherlands, Zein International Childcare has won several awards for their innovative and progressive approach to childcare. Previously finalists in the Best Day Care awards, Zein is one of the fastest growing companies in the Netherlands, and has now been awarded the status of ‘FD Gazelle’ - for a second year. Such business security is always a good thing to bear in mind when considering your future career development opportunities. As we continue to grow and develop, we recognise that our greatest resource is our staff - and finding diverse, committed and highly qualified people remains one of our top priorities.
Who are we? At Zein we offer a full range of childcare services including Day Care, Pre-School, After School Care and Holiday Care across 5 locations in The Hague. We work in partnership with all key international schools in the city, delivering a specially designed approach that focusses on social-emotional competences and the uniqueness of growing up in an internationally oriented learning environment. We offer an attractive salary and pension plan – in line with the Dutch Childcare Labour Agreement - as well as a place on the Zein Academy Training Programme. Given our ongoing expansion, there are also plenty of internal promotional opportunities available for committed high calibre colleagues who wish to advance their career within the company.
What makes us different? As a member of the Zein professional family, you will deliver a programme that has been specifically developed to reflect the needs of ‘Third Culture Kids’ - children who find themselves growing up in a country and culture different to their own. You will work in outstanding facilities that provide the children in our care with a home-like environment filled with positive interactive learning and memorable experiences. Our growing workforce consists of over 100 members of staff - who work together to continiously set the standard in international childcare through the provision of the highest level of care, facilities and service.
Tailor-made staff training programme We believe in the concept of lifelong learning, and invest time and energy into ensuring that all our staff feel happy and confident about their role in helping us continue delivering high quality international childcare. To support our staff’s understanding of the difference between our approach and that of other organisations, the Zein Academy was set up. The academy provides staff with 10 tailor-made trainings that are truly unique in the international childcare world. The Zein Academy Staff Training Programme is made up of a combination of lectures, interactive workshops and on the job application of knowledge. This in-depth programme looks at the specific needs of Third Culture Kids (TCKs) as well as the practical application of the Zein approach in the workplace - advancing both pedagogical knowledge and approach.
‘‘Investing in the training of our staff is an investment in the development of our children...’
Internationally diverse colleagues We believe that the best way to serve our diverse community is by ensuring that the people working for us reflect the same level of diversity themselves. This approach is about more than just the mother tongue language a colleague can speak, or the passport they hold. It is about their ability to empathise with the experiences and challenges faced by international mobile children and their families.
‘‘For me, it’s exciting that my colleagues are from many different nationalities and I can learn a lot about their culture and exchange ideas about our way of thinking and working. But first and foremost, they are professionals with a wealth of expertise and experience in their field and I feel privileged to work alongside them.’’ Vassia, Childcare Practitioner
With over 100 staff representing 31 nationalities, Zein really is ‘Setting the Standard’ in the international make up of its workforce.
What our staff say... ‘‘Working at Zein Childcare appeals to me because of the personal attention paid to the children, which is made possible by the small groups. Zein provides a home away from home where I love to be one of the people to help the children achieve their best.’’ Nienke, Assistant Manager
‘‘I really value the way we are able to guide a child to make positive choices, with help from Robbie Zein's Choices System.‘‘ Renu, Childcare Practitioner ‘If you would enjoy working in an international environment which will provide you with important guidance on how to do so through frequent seminars and trainings, then Zein Childcare is a good place for you!” Andreas, Childcare Practitioner ‘‘The icing on the cake for me is definitely the children. We laugh, we celebrate milestones, and sometimes we cry when they have to leave and move on to the next phase or the next country. My joy comes in knowing that at the end of the day I make a real difference in the lives of the children in our care.’’ Mollynn, Childcare Practitioner ‘‘Zein Childcare gives me the feeling of belongingness - just like a family. Despite our different origins, our opinions/ideas are heard and respected. Zein Childcare has also helped me upgrade my knowledge and skills in childcare through company trainings.’’ Dechie, Childcare Practitioner
