GUBERSTEIN
“I wish I was still an atheist. Believing I was born into a harsh, uncaring cosmos – in which my existence was a random roll of the dice and I was destined to die and rot and then be gone forever – was infinitely more comforting than the t r u t h. Because the t r u t h is that my God is coming back. When he arrives I’ll be waiting for him with a shotgun. And I’m keeping the last shell for myself.” — Charles Stross, The Fuller Memorandum

the Sun's mass generates a very strong gravitational field, which tries to crush the Sun into a tiny d o t of matter.
So equilibrium is the balance
the between thrust
the
outward of
the Sun's energy balanced with the attractive gravity of its mass, like a firecracker wrapped with rubber bands. If the solar reaction were to get more intense, it would cause the Sun to expand; if the solar reaction were to weaken, it would cause the Sun to
contract.

In
physics, r e d s h i f t happens when light or other electromagnetic radiation from an object moving away from the observer is in crea s ed in wavelength, or shifted to the red end of the spectrum. In general, whether or not the radiation is within the visible spectrum, "redder" means an increase in wavelength – equivalent to a lower frequency and a lower p hoton energy, in accordance with, respec tively, the wave and quantum theories o f l i g h t .
YSVYPTTSIAY Mixed-Media Site-Specific Installation / 161 ft² / Garage Art, Artist-in-Residency Program / Berlin, 2012
A love song to the laws of thermodynamics, as well as to a creation breathing its last breaths, referencing the rapid changing the city is undergoing. Signifying a fatal injury, an approach to a halt in the system’s function, the space is animated through its last days among the living, touching not only on the notion of the space as a vessel very similar to our own bodies, and it being merely a phase in the metamorphosis of matter, but also on its existential frailty and on the fact that all things must come to an end. This piece is the outcome of a one-month Artist-in-Residency program which aimed at bringing new life to a true GDR relic of a former car repair shop in an industrial complex which is scheduled to by demolished in 2013.

By applying the paper panels onto the YSVYPTTSIAY exhibition space the trajectory and traces of the bleeding that took place were captured / Frozen. The black bars are modelled accurately after the ratio of the spheres surrounding a black hole. In this follow-up exploration I contemplate the notion of objects arriving to an end and the exhaustion of their physical energy based on the astrophysical application of the Doppler Effect Redshift.

Around 6 million years ago, t he M e d i t e r r a n e a n Sea became separated from the Atlantic. Cut off from the world’s oceans, it began to evaporate. Around 5.3 million years ago the Atlantic breached the straight of Gib r a l tar. This was the beginning of what has been termed the Zanclean flood.
Scientists think that the entire ocean was refilled in only about 40 years, (!!!) with the majority of the refilling occurring in just a decade. The event also left its mark on e v o l u Many migrated into
