IDENTIFYING DEVICE IN AN XRAY DEVICE COMPONENTS An Xray image will show these two components. The position of the spring, with respect to the cylinder, shows the state of the device.

Top of Cylinder Top of Spring

Device Deactivated

Top of spring sits below the top of the cylinder, compressed. Device is deactivated

Spring Decompressed

Spring is decompressed due to either: - Device lacks pressure - Urethra atrophied - Air entered device

Device Active and Functioning

Top of spring sits at the top of the cylinder. Device is active and functioning

Spring Fully Decompressed

Spring is fully decompressed due to either: - Urethra atrophia - Urethra necrosis - Device leaking solution
