Molech (also known as Moloch, Molek, Melech, or Minerva’s Owl) most of the time represented by an owl, was an ancient Near Eastern deity worshiped by several cultures. The Canaanites, Carthaginians, Phoenicians and Israelites were especially devoted to making human sacrifices, even burning newborns alive, depending upon the seriousness of the blessing desired. Moloch was commonly worshiped in the mid-east in pre-New Testament times. Throughout history Moloch has been depicted as a bull and sometimes even resembling a dog. The most common usage by secret societies in modern times is the owl representing esoteric wisdom. The worship of Moloch is not only limited to ancient times. Today we can still see it all around our modern society including government, religions, corporations, educational and financial institutions.
